She was born on August 13, 1936, in Lewisville, North Carolina, to Gray and Thelma Simmons. Gail attended Mockville High School in Lewisville, North Carolina. She was a proud member of the Lewisville Baptist Church, where she found solace and community. On June 6, 1958, Gail married the love of her life, Marvin Dale Johnston. Their union was one of love and devotion that lasted for many treasured years. Gail was a loving daughter, sister, and mother figure to her family. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur, her mother, Thelma, her father, Gray, her grandmother, Sallie, her grandfather, Richmond, her grandfather, Arthur Jr., her grandmother, Claudia, her brother-in-law, Willson, her brother-in-law, Turner, and her nephew, Richard. Gail is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Johnston, her son, Alan, her daughter-in-law, Carol, and her granddaughter, Madison. They will forever cherish the memories they created together as a family. Gail led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and kindness. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the memories she shared with those close to her. We will forever hold Gail in our hearts and remember her as a shining example of grace and strength. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Born on August 13, 1936, in Lewisville, North Carolina, Gail was the beloved daughter of Gray Everett Sheek and Thelma Mae Simmons. Gail journey through life was defined by her unwavering strength, grace, and kindness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her impact on her family and community will be deeply cherished and greatly missed. As a devoted wife, Gail was married to the love of her life, Marvin Dale Johnston, on June 12, 1958. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories and shared countless joys. Gail commitment to her marriage and family was a shining example of the enduring power of love. Gail will be forever missed by her loving son, Alan, and cherished daughter in law, Carol, of Thornton, Colorado. Her granddaughters, Madison of Thornton, Colorado, and Caitlin of Lewisville, North Carolina, will forever treasure the wisdom, love, and guidance she bestowed upon them. Gail great-granddaughter, Aubrey, of Lewisville, North Carolina, will carry her memory in her heart always. In addition to her immediate family, Gail leaves behind a host of cherished relatives and friends who were touched by her kind spirit and warm heart.
