Chevis Shenold Sharp was born on January 30, 1973, to Cletta Joyce Sharp and Glenn Ray Banks in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of five children and was also known as "Chev Roc". Chevis grew up in Oklahoma City, later moved to Seminole, Oklahoma, and then to Shawnee where he attended Shawnee High School. In the earlier years of his life, he enjoyed riding horses with his childhood friends, shooting BB guns, and many other outdoor activities. After high school, he worked at Wrangler as a forklift driver and then, later, he went to work at Central Plastic. Chevis accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior during childhood and attended Galilee Baptist Church. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending time with his children , grandchildren and family. He loved playing video games with his boys and enjoyed coaching little league baseball with his son. He also loved going to the casino and watching sports. He wanted to be a storm chaser, so he loved to follow storms. He was such a caring and loving person and never met a stranger. He had a sweet and humble spirit, and he made everyone he met feel loved . Chevis transitioned January 29, 2024, at home surrounded by his family and close friends after battling lung cancer. Chevis was preceded in death by his parents, Cletta Joyce Sharp and Glenn Ray Banks; one brother, Damion Sharp; great-great grandmother, Salina Sims; two great-grandmothers, Cora Sharp and Lula Mae Jackson Smith; grandmothers, Alma Mae Banks and Dorothy Lee Sharp; two aunties, Regina Sharp and Belinda Anderson; three uncles-Ronnie Banks, Dewey Drennon and Wayland Banks. Chevis leaves behind to cherish his memory, Five sons Chris Cunnish, Ryan Sharp, Ka'Veon Sharp, Chevis Sharp, Jr., and Asher Sharp; One daughter J-Lynn Haymond; four grandchildren Jordan, Kamryn, Halo , Heavenly ; His Sweetheart better known as his “Roc” Trisha Haymond; three sisters Shanta Sharp, Justina Banks and Sharhonda Kelly ; one brother Glenn Banks jr; seven aunties -Denna Banks, Debbie Banks, Rhonda Banks, Almeda Johnson (Tony), Stephanie Drennon, Jeanetta Drennon and Denise Drennon; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved and adored. The family acknowledges with deep appreciation the many acts and expressions of kindness during our time of bereavement. Jimmy Wilkerson

Former Chiefs defensive end turned assistant coach - Jimmy Wilkerson passed away at 43. He was a standout at Paul Pewitt High School in Omaha, Texas, which led to his college career at the University of Oklahoma. In 2003, Kansas City Chiefs chose him in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. In that year, Jimmy was one of the two players to receive the team’s Mack Hill Award for the rookie of the year. During his four seasons with the Chiefs, he served as a reserve defense lineman and gave his best to special teams. In 2008, Wilkerson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he aced two seasons. Jimmy was in thier 2009 starting lineup, beginning with all of the year’s games. He shifted on to the New Orleans Saints in the next year and then again to the Seattle Seahawks in 2011 prior to getting retired as a player. Later in his life, he worked as a coach in both high school and college. In 2017, Jimmy started coaching the East Texas A&M Lions. He assisted the squad to thier NCAA Division II national championship victory in the same year. His most recent designation was of an assistant coach at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma, which won the state title for its third consecutive year the day after his demise. Jimmy’s son Maddox is a player for that team. Apart from Maddox, his three children, Emilia, Jax, and Tyson, and his loving wife, Jamie, survive him.
