The sequel director of "Fifty Shades of Grey," passed away at the age of 71. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 28, 1953, James made his directorial debut with the feature film titled "Reckless," in 1984. Regardless of his subtle start, his work got more recognition, especially with "At Close Range." The Brooklyn-born director breathed his last earlier this week due to brain cancer. He passed away peacefully while sleeping in his home in Los Angeles. Foley worked with many big names, such as Madonna, Sean Penn, Halle Berry, and Al Pacino. He had expertise in noir-adjacent, atmosphere-soaked stories. In TV, Foley directed episodes for major series, including Hannibal, House of Cards, Billions, and Wayward Pines. His work on House of Cards included 12 episodes over the first three seasons of the show. His other masterpieces include Pacino's "Confidence," "Two Bits," "Perfect Stranger," "The Corrupter," and "The Chamber," among many. He is survived by his siblings Jo Ann Foley, Kevin, and Eileen, and his nephew, Quin Foley. His brother, Gerad Foley, preceded him in death. James leaves behind a legacy that spans high-stakes drama, music videos, and worldwide box-office hits.
