WILLIE HOLMES JR September 19, 1974 - November 21, 2024 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willie Holmes Jr, aged 50, on November 21, 2024, in Abbeville, Georgia. Willie was born on September 19, 1974, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Willie Holmes Sr and lovely surviving Linda G Jones Holmes. He was a beloved son, father, brother, and husband. Willie's life was one filled with joy, love, and dedication. He attended Savannah High School and later graduated from George W Wingate High School in Brooklyn, NY. Throughout his life, Willie held various roles, including being a skilled brick mason, roofer, and sider. In his teenage years, he worked diligently at Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Marcos Italian restaurant in Lewiston, ME. Willie was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Savannah, where his faith served as a foundation in his life. He found solace and fulfillment within the warm embrace of his church community. On May 7, 2001, Willie exchanged vows with the love of his life, Amanda Hughes Holmes, at a beautiful ceremony in Brunswick, ME. They shared many cherished memories together and supported each other through the highs and lows of life. Amanda was undoubtedly the steadfast pillar in Willie's life. Willie's legacy lives on through his family, who will forever cherish his memory. He leaves behind his loving mother, Linda Lacewell, and his beloved children, Leah Hughes, Lana Holmes, Julian W Holmes, Alexia M Holmes, Coby Hughes, and. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Bobby Jones Catina Holmes and Tonya Holmes and long time girl friend Lori, Ann, Polly Willie's compassion, strength, and unwavering love will remain etched in their hearts forever. Prior to his passing, Willie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Holmes Sr, as well as grand parents Leroy Jones Sr, Lilly Mae Jones, Wesley Holmes, Alberta Hughes Holmes, and ex wife Amanda Hughes Holmes. Their memories will forever be intertwined with Willie's, as they were his family and loved ones who paved the way before him. The funeral service to honor and celebrate Willie's life will be held at the Funeral Home, Inc./ Sidney A. Jones Est. 1936, located at 124 W Park Ave, Savannah, GA 31401, USA on Saturday 11-30-2024.
