Andrew Andy Jasner
Jul 07, 1969 - Jul 31, 2024
Philadelphia, NY
We are sad to announce the departure of Andrew “Andy” Jasner - a dear father, loving husband, and a friend to many. He was loyal and loving, dedicated and doting till the very end. • BORN: JULY 8, 1969 • DIED: AUGUST 1, 2024 • DETAILS: NONE On August 1, 2024 – the world lost one other shining star. Andrew “Andy” Jasner was a girl dad who left behind his ever-loving wife Taryn Jasner, and the three reasons of his entire being – Leah, Shira, and Jordana. He was a legendary freelance writer based in the Philadelphia area. Andy was the son of the late great Phil Jasner, who was also a fantastic writer for the Philadelphia Daily News. After being in the front seat to witness his father manage the Philadelphia 76ers full-time in 1981, they became the first father-son duo to write about an NBA All-Star Game in 1992, right after Andy graduated from Syracuse University in 1991. He also worked for several magazines, newspapers, and websites, including ESPN and CBS SportsLine. Apart from that, Jasner wrote a book about his father’s career, “Phil Jasner: On the Case.” Moreover, “Baltimore Raven” is also one of these masterpieces. He was a seasoned writer who had expertise in writing on a number of different topics. There was just something about the way how he always brought a new perspective to whatever he wrote, his writings are always refreshing to read. As brilliant as he was as a writer, Andy was an even more brilliant man. Friends and relatives are invited to funeral services that are to be held on August 5, 2024, Monday, at 11 a.m. sharp. These services will be at Congregation Ohev Shalom, 2 Chester Road, Wallingford, PA 19086. Interment Montefiore Cemetery, Jenkintown, PA. Moreover, Shiva will be observed at his residence on Thursday to grieve over this immense loss.
