In loving memory of Paul B. Laukaitis, who peacefully passed away on March 3, 2012, in Roanoke. Born on September 19, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Paul's 87 years were marked by love, family, and community service. A dedicated member of the Roanoke Council 562 Knights of Columbus, he held the honor of being a 4th-degree knight. Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment. For 52 years, he shared a deep and affectionate bond with his wife, Marilyn Laukaitis. Together, they navigated the journey of life, creating cherished memories along the way. Paul's love extended to his children: Brenda Laukaitis Craine and husband Kimber of Arlington, Brett Laukaitis of San Francisco, and Marsha Laukaitis of Clarks Summit, Pa. His impact continues through his grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob. In addition to his immediate family, Paul is survived by his sister, Helen Pisano of Pittston, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul's contributions to the Knights of Columbus and his unwavering dedication to family and community will be remembered fondly. As we mourn his departure, we celebrate a life well-lived and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

"Ronald Wray ""Ron"" Hodges, aged 74, passed away on November 24th, 2023. He spent his last moments at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. And passed away following a brief illness. Born on June 22nd, 1949, in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He was the son of Tony and Daisy Hodges and was preceded in death by his sisters. Ron graduated from Franklin County High School in 1968 and later attended Appalachian State University. In 1971, he was drafted by the New York Mets and joined the Major Leagues in 1973. Thus enjoying a career that spanned until his retirement in 1984. Returning to Rocky Mount, he worked as a realtor for Meadow Spring Land and Realty. Later renamed to Mountain to Lake Realty, until his retirement. Recognized for his athletic achievements, Ron was inducted into the Appalachian State University Hall of Fame in 1982. And later the Roanoke Salem Baseball Hall in 1993, and the Franklin County High School Hall of Fame in 2018. Beyond his sports career, Ron coached various teams in Franklin County and was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rocking chairs on the porch, and dancing. A member of Willow Creek Country Club and Rocky Mount United Methodist Church. Ron's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandsons Kemper and Kaden. "
