He was born on January 21, 1950, also in Memphis, to the late Norma and Clinton Black. Willie was a man of many unique qualities and passions. He found solace and joy in the art of Hindu Magic and was a devoted member of the Obeah Witchcraft community. Willie's involvement in these practices allowed him to connect with others and spread love and positivity throughout his life. Willie received his education from South Haven public schools and proudly graduated from South Haven High School. He treasured the memories he made during those years and maintained friendships that lasted a lifetime. Professionally, Willie worked as a supervisor at Byran Foods, dedicating himself to his career and making valuable contributions to the company. His commitment, leadership, and strong work ethic played a significant role in his success. In his leisure time, Willie enjoyed immersing himself in his hobbies, especially Hindu Magic, which allowed him to explore new realms of spirituality and extend his artistic abilities. He found great satisfaction in mastering the magical arts and shared his knowledge with those who were eager to learn. Willie is survived by his loving children, Chris Black, Nkosi Oneal, and Natasha Black. He held a special place in his heart for his grandson, Kameron O'Neal, who brought immense joy and happiness into his life. He will be dearly missed by his cherished family, including his siblings, Norma and Charlie James Black who preceded him in death. Larry Vonzell Washington was born on September 16, 1955, in Memphis, to his loving parents, the late Orble L. Washington and Murrell E. Washington. His brother Michael Washington also precedes him in death. Larry grew up the oldest of five children. Loving the artistry of music and art. He was the mastermind in creating five beautiful humans whom he loved dearly. Larry had a heart pure as gold and a smirk so sweet. Anyone who encountered Larry's spirit became family indeed. Larry represented his community of Orange Mound wherever he went. He carried the love for family like a torch runner, racing until the end. Larry's memory will forever be cherished by his five children, Tordra Washington, Keyona Washington, Kenosha Washington, Kendra Conley, and Carlos Curtis. Four brothers, Anthony Washington, Louis Washington, Steve Washington, Nathaniel Washington. two sisters, Phyllis Allen( Juan Allen) and Linda Washington of Los Angeles , California. One aunt, Patricia Davis . Two uncles, Lee Davis and Howard Studdard from Los Angeles, CA. who shared many precious moments and experiences with him. Larry also leaves behind twelve beautiful grandchildren. Three awesome nephews whom he cherished. Two beautiful nieces. One gorgeous great niece. A great friend Chris Jones. He also leaves behind a partner in life, Jennette Mangrum, whom he loved generously. He also leaves a host of other friends and cousins. Larry Vonzell Washington departed this life on September 30, 2024. Surrounded by family and loved ones. Larry will truly be missed. He left all of us with token memories to keep us going through those weary days.

"Festus John Wade, III, passed away on December 13th, 2023, in Memphis, Tennessee, after a short illness. He was born on August 13th, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Catherine Crunden Wade and Festus John Wade, Jr. John attended schools in St. Louis before moving to Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, for high school. He later graduated from Yale University in 1949. At Yale, he excelled in rowing, winning the United States paired rowing championship and representing the U.S. in the 1948 Olympics in England. After college, he served as a pilot in the Air Force during the Korean War, completing 100 combat missions. Following his military service, John worked at Mallinckrodt Chemical Company in St. Louis before relocating to Jackson, Mississippi, in 1968 to join the Mississippi Research and Development Center. He later taught at Jackson State University's business school after earning his PhD in business management from Mississippi State University at the age of 55. In retirement, John moved to Trezevant Manor in Memphis in 2009, where he remained active, serving on committees and organizing social events. He was an avid reader, active church member, and enjoyed lively discussions with friends, especially his philosophy club. In his final years, John found joy in spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorsey Nicholson Wade, and their children. "
