"On December 3rd, 2023, Claude Engle peacefully passed away in Ottawa at the age of 85. Leaving behind a legacy of love and accomplishments. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 25 years, Francine. Claude was a proud father to Claude IV, Sandra Gichner, and Doug. He was also a cherished stepfather to Patrick and Caroline Sullivan. An accomplished skier and sailor, Claude's illustrious career as a world-renowned lighting designer spanned over 50 years. A graduate in Electrical Engineering from Princeton in 1960, he contributed his unique vision to iconic structures worldwide. Including the Buckminster Fuller Dome, the Louvre Pyramid, and the Millau Viaduct in France. Moreover, he also worked on the Reichstag in Berlin and the World Trade Center towers. Known for his belief that ""light should be felt but not seen,"" Claude's designs illuminated the world. Even in retirement, when his knees gave out, Claude remained undaunted. He volunteered at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. Captivating children with train stories, magic tricks, and joyful trolley rides. Claude Engle's enduring spirit and contributions have left an indelible mark on the world. "
