Tyrone Allen Taylor September 11, 1950 - April 1, 2024 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tyrone Allen Taylor, aged 73, on April 1, 2024, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He leaves behind a rich and enduring legacy that touched the lives of many. Born on September 11, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tyrone grew up in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of Gloria Louise Taylor and the late James E. and Edith E. Dreher, who fostered him. Tyrone carried a thirst for knowledge throughout his life. He graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High (CASH) and later pursued higher education at Lehigh University. With a photogenic memory, he studied pharmacy, math, science, psychology, and devoted himself to the teachings of the Bible and the Quran daily in his latter years. Tyrone's passion for learning extended beyond his own growth as he found joy in teaching and tutoring others. He began his professional career by working for Wyeth Labs and ended at Norristown State Hospital, where he made significant contributions in housekeeping and tutoring. Tyrone's dedication and commitment to his work were well-known and appreciated by his colleagues. Tyrone was a man of faith and spirituality. He regularly followed and attended Christian, Catholic, and Islamic teachings at Norristown State Hospital, finding solace and guidance in each. His deep-rooted beliefs and commitment to religious diversity were sources of inspiration for many who knew him. In his free time, Tyrone enjoyed exercise, which helped him maintain a healthy lifestyle. He also followed the accomplishments of Nobel prize winners and elite mathematics competition winners, continually immersing himself in the world of academia. Deeply devoted to the welfare of others, Tyrone gave generously to charitable organizations. Donations can be made for benefit of patients being released from Norristown State Hospital, specifically suitcases, duffel bags, clothing in good condition, or funds to support those in need. The Social Workers can be contacted at 610-313-1000. Another cause close to Tyrone's heart was the West Chester University. Which is where he wanted to complete his education had he been released from NSH. At WCU Student Resource Pantry, funds and donations are always welcome. Contributions can be made to the WCU Foundation at 202 Carter Drive, West Chester, PA 19382. Tyrone was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Curtis Taylor, his mother, Gloria Louise Taylor, and his foster parents, James E. and Edith E. Dreher and foster sister, Jeanette (Dreher) Neal. Their memory will forever remain in the hearts of Tyrone's family and friends. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Zachary Kevin Taylor and Avelina Taylor of Norristown, Pennsylvania; his sisters, Felicia Taylor of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Brigitte Taylor Paylor and her husband Gary Paylor of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; his brother, Niles Taylor of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Fatima Taylor of Medford, Massachusetts; his daughter and son-in-law, Sonja Galyon Kamonika and Deibir Campos Rodriguez of Bound Brook, New Jersey; and his son and daughter-in-law, Maurice E. A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Taylor will be held on May 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. For further inquiries, please contact the funeral home at (610) 292-0422. Tyrone Allen Taylor will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
