"Connecticut and the music world goodbyes Scott Kempner, the guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of the Dictators. Scott passed away on November 29th, 2023, at a nursing home in Connecticut. Sadly, succumbing to complications related to early-onset dementia at the age of 69. Born in The Bronx, New York, on February 6th, 1954. Scott Kempner’s musical journey started shortly after graduating from the Bronx High School of Science. In 1972, alongside Andy Shernoff and Ross Friedman, he co-founded the Dictators. This earned him the nickname ""Top Ten."" The band released their debut album in 1975, which was based on wrestling. The name of this famous album was ""The Dictators Go Girl Crazy."" Post the Dictators, Scott founded the roots rock band the Del-Lords, where he served as the chief singer and songwriter. The band released seven albums in total, including ""Elvis Club"" in 2013. Scott's musical influence extended further as he played and toured with various bands. This also included Little Kings and the Paradise Brothers. Additionally, he released three solo albums: ""Tenement Angels,"" ""Saving Grace,"" and ""Live on Blueberry Hill"". Despite facing the challenges of dementia, Scott continued to contribute to music. Until his departure from the Dictators in 2021. Scott Kempner's legacy lives on through his music work, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of fans. "
