John E. Kidwell passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

John was born in Falmouth, Kentucky on a snowy day in January 1941. He grew up in Erlanger, Kentucky. John graduated high school and furthered his education at the University of Cincinnati where he earned his bachelor's degree. 

During his many years in Coffeyville, he was active in both business and community functions. He and his wife, Barbara were the owners and operators of The Home Lumber and Supply Co. for a number of years. He and Barbara then opened Kidwell

Former Pasco County Commissioner, Dr. Pat Mulieri, served Pasco County and her constituents for over 20 years. Pat was also a college professor at Pasco-Hernando State College where she taught English. Many of her students were also county employees. During her time as commissioner, the county experienced unprecedented growth and Pat played a key role in helping to bring businesses, industry and employment to the county while simultaneously protecting and preserving environmentally sensitive lands by creating parks and open spaces. Pat was also an advocate for the less fortunate. She established the mobile medical unit which serves the homeless and uninsured. She was active in her area's elderly nutrition program, parks, libraries and helped provide as many amenities as possible for her district. Lastly, Pat was an animal lover who advocated for and brought about many improvements to the county shelter that helped shelter animals find forever homes. Several of her own pets came from the shelter. The list of Pat's accomplishments through the years are far too long to list here. She was the ultimate public servant, and her hard work and dedication will be her legacy that will benefit generations to come. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Connie J. Smith, 74, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at her daughter's house. 

Connie was born on December 3, 1948, to Charles and Treva (Dean) Harrington; she was the sister of Jim, Diane, Dave and Tom Harrington. Connie grew up in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and graduated from Lenapah High School in 1967. 

She was united in marriage to Larry Allison I in 1967. From that union two children were born, Larry Allison II and Jenny (Allison) Hoggatt. The couple later divorced.

Brian Lee DePriest, 60, of Caney, Kansas passed away on September 5, 2023 to go to his forever home in Heaven. He was born in Independence, Kansas to Marilyn and Charles DePriest. He was raised in Caney, Kansas, graduating from Caney Valley High School in 1980. 

After high school, he became Assistant Manager at Town and Country Grocery. He then went into Ford Dealerships selling auto parts for several years. From there he was self-employed as an artisan for several years before working for Auto Zone ultimately as their commercial sales manager.

Loyd Alvin Fields, age 77, went home to Jesus on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after complications from open heart surgery. 

Loyd was born on his childhood farm north of Caney, Kansas on January 12, 1946, to Clyde and Vera Fields. Loyd graduated from Caney High School in 1964. Later from Kansas State University in 1969 with a BS in Horticulture. 

Loyd married Patty Sullivan on July 29, 1967. After a short employment with the Topeka Park Service, he and Patty returned to Caney to purchase and operate the Fields Greenhouses and Flower

Donald Edwin Ellerman, age 81, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Medicalodges of Coffeyville on Midland. 

Don was born on February 28, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky to Jack and Katherine (Hobbs) Wallin. He grew up in Bardstown, Kentucky where he graduated from Bardstown High School. Don then graduated from the University of Louisville where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. After that he graduated from Patterson School of International Diplomacy and Economics.

Kimberly Grace Stotts, 57, of Coffeyville passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at her home. 

She was born on June 27, 1966, in Kansas City, KS, to her beloved mother, Linda Wooten. Kimberly grew up and attended school in Elk City, Kansas and completed her education in Coffeyville.

Kimberly left a lasting impact on everyone she met. What mattered most to Kimberly were her sons and grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Eugene "Gene" P. Despaw, 89, a proud veteran of the Army passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2023, in Longview, Texas surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer.

Larry Dean Moore, a man celebrated for his dedication, loyalty, and reliability, not to mention a sense of humor that could make a statue crack a smile passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Theresa Ann Moore, age 50, of Caney, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. 

She was born in Sedan, Kansas, on January 15, 1973, to Randall and Linda (Baughman) Mellen. Theresa grew up and attended school in Caney, graduating from Caney Valley High School.
