Barbara Joyce Brady Gribbins, of Stanford, KY, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Liberty Care Center. She was 88. Born April 8, 1935, in Lebanon, KY, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Charlie Mae Riley Brady. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She loved her grandchildren and was of the Baptist faith, formerly attending Harris Creek Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her son, Joseph Gribbins Jr. of Liberty; her daughters, MaDonna (Mark) Fillipi of Virginia and Valerie (Greg) Sanders of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Sheila Gribbins; six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leslie Gribbins Sr. ; her son, Leslie Michael Gribbins; her grandson, Robert Peavey; and her brothers, George and Richard "Dick" Brady. Funeral services will be held privately. Pallbearers will be Greg Sanders, Joseph Gribbins Jr. , Joseph Gribbins III, Micah Peavey, John Peavey, and Sonny Patterson. Alissa Lee Francis Horseman, 73, of Stanford, KY passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. Born on July 10, 1950 in Stanford, KY to the late Cabell D. And Helen Juanita Carroll Francis. Alissa dedicated her life to the care and love of both her family and the minds of countless young students. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, Alissa's legacy is one of love, education, and faith. She was an inspiration in our community having devoted 27 years of her life to Education. She taught at Stanford Elementary and Lincoln County High School before her well-earned retirement. Survivors include her husband, David Horseman of Stanford; two sons, David Horseman, Jr. (Cindy) and Kelly Horseman (Allison); five grandchildren, Molly Browning, Ryan Browning, Ian Horseman, Lydia Horseman and Aaron Horseman; one brother, Cabell D. Francis II; one brother-in-law, Greg Russell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cabell and Helen Francis; and two sisters, Margaret Seifert-Russell and Debbie Francis. Eddie G. Elliott, 70, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away on September 30, 2023, in Stanford, Kentucky. He was born on February 17, 1953, in Danville. Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Nettie Elliott, his son, Christopher Elliott, his daughter, Jennifer Darnell, and his three grandchildren, Jalen Brown, Dalton Elliott, and Delaney Elliott. He is also survived by his great-grandson, Dakota Brown, and his brother, Larry Elliott. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Frances Elliott, as well as his siblings, Sue Ownby, Dena Horn, and Roger Elliott. A private ceremony will be held in honor of Eddie. On August 31, 2023 Bettie Marie "Greer" Bass (80) entered the gates of heaven where she was greeted by her husband of 61 years, the late Charles Raymond Bass and Jesus. More than anything Bettie loved her children and grandchildren: Donita McCormick (Summer & Alex) Randy Bass (Justin, Audra, & Kayla), Chris Bass (Isaiah & Ethan), and Eva Bishop (Colton & Campden), great-grand children: Casey Marie, Burton Lane, Garrett Owen, and Abigail Rae, and her sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff, Lorrie, Kathy, Kishon and Matt. Bettie's children want the world to know that she loved us more than any human could have loved her children and always had our backs; she was full of wisdom and we all considered her our very best friend; she had a wit and humor that could make you laugh until you cried at just the right time; and, second to her husband and children, her greatest love in life were her siblings: the late Christine Ollish, the late Paul Greer, the late Loretta Greer, Anna Doss, the late Ronald Greer, Richard Greer, her many nieces, nephews, friends, and last but not least, her loyal cat, Jazmine. Born on January 12, 1956 in Stanford to the late Eath and Viola Spears Manuel. Vicky was a cook and custodian for most of her life. She had previously worked for Charleston Healthcare, McKinney Depot and the former Lincoln Inn Restaurant. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. Vicky is a Christian who was saved at Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Born on September 1, 1975 in Harrodsburg, KY to Beulah Carolyn Carr Hester and the late, Donald Hester, Sr. He enjoyed playing golf, making people laugh, and spending time with his mother, who he loved dearly. Donnie admired and loved listening to the late Dr. Charles Stanley sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He would wake up and turn the t. v. on at 6:00 a. m. every Sunday morning to listen to him. Crystal was a member of the Bethel A. M. E. Church - Boneyville, Stanford, KY. She worked for American Greetings in Danville, KY for 20 years. Crystal loved life to the fullest and she was always there to help anyone in need, even when she didn't feel good herself. She was always ready to crack a joke to get a laugh. She battled with Leukemia for two years, yet she remained resilient and always kept a smile on her face. To know her was to love her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jody Maurie Wilkinson; grandparents, Louis and Alene Wilkinson, and Monroe Grisby; one aunt, Linda Goodloe; three uncles, James A. Gooch, Robert Mitchell Wilkinson and Jackie M. Gooch.
