Wilma Sigrid Hamblin (Louis) passed away at Care Partners Fox Crossing Assistive Living in Neenah, Wisconsin on September 10, 2023. She was born on July 29, 1926 in Hayward, Wisconsin; the oldest of three daughters to William Henry Louis and Letitia Ann Louis (Edwards). Growing up Wilma alternatively lived in both Hayward and Hammond, Indiana. Wilma met her future husband, Richard Clyde Hamblin, when she was 14 years old. They wrote each other during World War II and got married after the war ended and Rich was discharged. Wilma and Rich were married on July 28, 1945 in Hayward. They were married for over 40 years and welcomed six children into their family. Wilma and Richard lived in Hayward, Delevan, Beloit, Appleton, moving often to accommodate Rich's career in Mink Ranching. They spent their retirement years in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They lived west of town, planting a huge garden every year. Wilma spent all summer in the garden and then froze many vegetables each fall. She enjoyed quilting and joined the Lakeside Quilters Guild and gained many new friends. The family spent a lot of time in Hayward and Eau Claire, visiting relatives. Rich and Wilma flew out to Idaho, visiting their son Bill, taking a trip to Yellowstone National Park. After Rich passed away in 1987, Wilma visited Yellowstone every Memorial and Labor Day weekends for many years. She met many of Bill's friends, hearing from some for many years after she quit making the trips out west. Also, after Rich passed away, Wilma began volunteering at Peg's place of work, the CESA 6 Media Center. It was quite a transition from being a stay-at-home mother for most of her life. After a few years, she was hired and worked there until her daughter Peg retired in 2010. Wilma was also very healthy. Her children often commented that she was more healthy than all of them! In 2018 she suffered a dislocated shoulder and had to spend three months in rehabilitation. Around this time, her family began to notice signs of dementia. Unfortunately, the dementia worsened and she moved to Care Partners in spring of 2022. Wilma is survived by her six children: William Michael, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Nancy Ann Winter (Michael Johnson), Greenville, Wisconsin, Peggy Jeanette, Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Arthur Kelly (Jan) Appleton, Wisconsin; Ellen Kathryn (David) Mayhew, Greenville, Wisconsin; and Dawn Denise (Gary) Kohl, of Hilbert, Wisconsin. Wilma is also survived by five grandchildren: Michael (Danielle); Robert (Kathy); Timothy (Melissa); Matthew (Jessy); and Andy (Shannon) Kohl. Wilma was blessed with five great-grandchildren: Katrina Johnson, Meghan Reh, Eliana Rose Hamblin, Jack Levi Damon, and Ivan Arthur Hamblin. Wilma is also survived by one sister-in-law, Dorothy Kuta, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents William and Letitia, her sisters Edith and Clara, and grandson Brian Damon. A memorial visitation for Wilma will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. , in Oshkosh, WI on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Interment will take place in Cable, Wisconsin at the Greenwood Cemetery. Niece Cathy Hamblin will conduct a small graveside service. Wilma's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her hospice nurses and CNA's as well as her caretakers at Care Partners.

Mary Snyder

Age - N/A

December 8, 2023

Mary Snyder of Neenah gently passed away on Monday morning, December 4, surrounded by the love of her husband and her children. Mary grew up on a farm at the end of a lane next to a golf course. The memories she shared of her parents Lillian and Herbert and the childhood they created for her and her sisters were magical. Mary met Cy, the love of her life, one summer when they were both home waiting for assignments; he as an officer in the Navy and she as an airline stewardess. Mary also held a teaching degree and taught in Minnesota and California. We all enjoyed the stories she recalled of meeting our Dad and their life together over the next sixty-five plus years. Mary and Cy welcomed a family of five children. Cy will tell you Mary was the heart and soul of their family. Together they provided a home filled with love, kindness and . . . a bit of chaos. She enjoyed every minute of being our Mom. Her next treasure in life was being a grandmother. She was Nonnie to eleven grandchildren, and further gifted with eight great-grandchildren, all of whom were able to experience her loving heart. Her love knew no bounds. It didn't stop at our family - she made others her family, too. She was a Mom to many. Mary and Cy were quite the team. Aside from their family, they had loads of friends, lots of fun, and shared more love and laughter than most people could ever hope for. In her final days she remarked repeatedly what an amazingly happy life she enjoyed, and how much she hated to leave it. Mary always had sage advice for anyone who needed it (and sometimes even for those who didn't ask for it), and with this in mind we share her last thoughts. It's all so simple. Be happy. Be happy and appreciate every day because it all goes so fast. Too fast. She was amazed - even at her age - that it was over. And so let that be part of her legacy. Squeeze your loved ones a bit tighter, laugh a little harder, smile a bit more easily, and appreciate your life a bit more deeply. Mary is survived by her husband Cy and children Lori (Steve) Engel and their children Dustin, Alex and Jessica; Mike (Debbie) Snyder and their children Kaitlyn and Michael; Marc Snyder and his children Sam and Willem; Sandi (Rick) Bergstrom; Kiki (Kyle) McMillan and their children Max, Dominic, Oliver and George; and, her great-grandchildren. Also surviving Mary are her sister Peggy, and many nephews and nieces. Mary joins her parents, Cy's parents, her sisters Ann and Norma, and daughter-in-law Kristle on her journey. Services will be held for Mary on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00, St. Margaret Mary Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Mary's dad and her relentless hope for a cure.Show more

Anne K. Paulus, 80 of Neenah, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home early Saturday morning, December 2nd, 2023. She was born September 9th, 1943, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the third of seven children born to Merlin and Vera (nee Kohn) VanDyke. She was married November 26th, 1960, to David Paulus Sr. in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Dave and Anne raised three children, David Jr. (Kathy), Cheryl (Larry Dailey), and Jeffry (Teresa). Anne's career began as a secretary in real estate after several years as a stay-at-home mother. She worked her way up to becoming a real estate agent, broker, and owner of Realco, Inc. in the Fox Cities. As a realtor she received numerous accolades and awards including Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce's Athena Award, Wisconsin REALTORS Association's Distinguished Service Award and Quality Counts Award, REALTORS Association of Northeastern Wisconsin's Excellence in Professionalism and Realtor of the Year, First Weber Group Realtors President's Circle Award, and served as a National Association of REALTORS Political Action Committee Life Member in the Nation's Capitol. She was a pioneer for women in business, but her true passion was serving and connecting with her community. Her position as the first female President of the Winnebago County Realtor Association and the first female Member and later President of the Neenah-Menasha Optimist Club set in motion a prolific life of community service: Chairman of Board of Review and Chairman of Neenah Housing Authority Committee for the City of Neenah, Commission Member for the City of Neenah Police and Fire Commission, Member of Board of Directors and Chairman of State and Federal Issues Committee for Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors for Reach Counseling Service, and Committee Member for the fundraising of Shattuck Park Riverwalk. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Neenah, teaching religion classes in her early years and more recently serving on the Haiti committee. The family that Anne created was her most honored and cherished legacy. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: her siblings, Peter VanDyke, Susan VanDyke, Paul (Mary Clare) VanDyke, and Bill (Donna) VanDyke; her sister-in-law, Jane (John) VanDyke; her grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Paulus, Derek (Lauren) Paulus, Ryan (Emmery) Paulus, Shane (Sarah) Dailey, Lesley (Vance) Hall, John Dailey, Amy Dailey, Hannah (Michael) Walsh, Sara Paulus (Christopher Voelz), and Alyssa Paulus (Steven Carl); and her eleven great- grandchildren. She is greeted in heaven by her loved ones who preceded her in death: her loving parents, Merlin and Vera (nee Kohn) VanDyke; her siblings, Robert "Bob" VanDyke and wife, Linda, and John VanDyke; and her grandson, Brian Paulus. The entire family will miss her many talents of sewing, baking, and hosting gatherings for everyone she loved. She made every holiday feel like magic. She created many traditions including Christmas cookie making, decorating for the holidays, and sending cards for any and all occasions. We will miss our trips with her to beloved Washington D. C. and Florida, shopping trips to Chicago and Milwaukee, summer days at the Neenah Pool, and her hugs that felt like home no matter where you were. While Anne herself cannot be fully described by any number of words, her most encompassing characteristic was Agape - Selfless Love. Agape is the highest level of love to offer. It is given without any expectations of receiving anything in return. Offering Agape is a decision to spread love in any circumstance. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anne will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St. , Neenah, Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 8:00 A. M. until the hour of service. Anne will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Joe's Food Pantry or to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Anne's name.Show more
