Paul Burks was born on February 23, 1942, to Turner Burks and Corentha Lambert. He was the 2nd of 9 children. He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers (Vernell & Charlie Burks) and one sister (Cobea Burks). He attended Muskegon Heights High School. In 1969 Paul wed his beloved wife, Bobbie Burks. Paul was a loving father and provider of four surviving children. Paul accepted Christ and was Baptized in Kansas City in his mid-adult life and his spirit now rests with our Father God and Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. Paul was a skilled welder with Allis-Chalmers, a Houston based machine manufacturer company here in Kansas City until early retirement. This long-term employment was very instrumental and enabled Paul the means to provide for his growing family. He loved having fun, cracking jokes, and laughing with family and friends at any gathering he attended. He was the life of the party for sure. He had a passion for playing pool for entertainment. Paul was called home to rest on November 5, 2023. To Cherish his memory, he leaves behind his wife Bobbie Burks who dedicated the last years of his life serving him as he fought this unrelentless disease. Four children Angela Smith (Dennis) KCMO, Mechell Watkins (Antonio) LSMO, Jeffrey Patterson KCMO, Felecia Burks Sinclair (Carl) KCMO, Paul Taylor KCMO. Along with five grandchildren and Six great grandchildren. One brother, James Thomas KCMO. Carol Ann Taylor, peacefully passed away on November 26, 2023. She was born on September 16, 1935. Carol led a beautiful and meaningful life, characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family and her deep faith in God. She was married to the love of her life, John Taylor, whom she joins in the presence of the Lord. After graduating from North KC High School, Carol embarked on her greatest role as a loving and devoted mother. She poured all of her love and energy into raising her children, making sure they felt cherished every step of the way. Carol's selflessness knew no bounds as she tirelessly cared for her family, ensuring their happiness and well-being above all else. In addition to being a nurturing mother, Carol had a vibrant spirit that was complemented by her love for music. She found immense joy in attending concerts and found solace in the melodies of country music. Her passion for collecting Beanie Babies showcased her playful side and highlighted her ability to appreciate the small joys in life. Carol's faith played an integral role in shaping the woman she became. Her love for God fueled her compassionate nature, allowing her to extend kindness and understanding to all those around her. She found comfort and support within her church community, where she nurtured lasting friendships built on shared values and mutual respect. The legacy of Carol Ann Taylor will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unconditional love and the sacrifices she made will be cherished by her children, who carry pieces of their mother's grace with them always. Preceding Carol in death was her parents: Donald and Anna Pratt; her husband: John Taylor; Son: Timothy Taylor; and brother: Johnny Pratt. Survivors include her loving children: Bruce (Tracy) Taylor, and Cynthia Taylor; as well as her grandchildren: Alec, Shelby, and Hunter Taylor; and her brother: Gary (Joyce) Pratt. A visitation event will be held in memory of Carol at the Terrace Park Cemetery Lakeside Chapel in Kansas City on December 2, 2023. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM. A funeral service will follow immediately after, beginning at 2:30 PM. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember Carol Ann Taylor for the love, kindness, and joy she brought into the world. She was a dedicated member and board member of the KC Marching Sizzlers. Latosha had a passion for caring for others, and was a CNA for many years. She recently completed her Level II Optometric Technician Certification. Darrius graduated from Wyandotte high school in 2009 and continued his education at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance working on aircraft. Darrius was always working hard to care for his family, accomplishing many great things in his life. Darrius gave his life to Christ on September 2nd, 2007. Darrius was blessed with 6 children. He enjoyed living life, spending time with his loved ones constantly smiling, cracking jokes. Darrius departed this life on November 18, 2023. Betty A Ulschak, 91, passed away Monday, November 27th, 2023. Rosary and Visitation will be held on Monday, December 4th at 9:00 AM; St. John Francis Regis Church, 8941 James A. Reed Rd. , Kansas City MO. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery will immediately follow Mass. A luncheon will be provided at St. John Francis Regis Church for those who'd like to gather and reminisce. Betty was born in Kansas City, MO to Otto and Clara Gredell. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Ulschak; her husband, Curtis Ulschak; three brothers, Richard Gredell, Raymond Gredell, William Miller; and her sister, Mary Louise "Bobbie" Duncan. She is survived by her daughter, Lise (Ulschak) Dujakovich and husband Tom; seven grandchildren, Lacey, Jeremy, Derek, Sophia, Colin, Adam and Seth; four great grandchildren, Maeve, Nolan, Kiera and Cohen; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Betty began playing the organ when she was age 10 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She dedicated 40+ years to St. John Francis Regis Parish serving in the role of Liturgical Director. Music was her passion, and she took great care in sharing both the happy times and sad times with parishioners. Betty loved gathering with family and friends; everyone around the piano for sing-alongs. She enjoyed raising prize-winning roses and had a special place in her heart for birds and animals of all kinds. Betty also loved being outdoors, camping, and vacationing with family. Louise Gredell was born April 17, 1928 in Kansas City Missouri to Frederick William Huffman and Marguerite Lucille (Matthew) Huffman, and passed away November 28, 2023 at age 95. Louise was raised in Kansas City and graduated from Paseo High School. She met the love of her life, Walter Raymond ("Ray") Gredell, at a college fraternity party at UMKC where Ray was finishing his college education after he had returned from service in the Navy during WWII. Ray and Louise were married on October 22, 1948, and lived their entire lives in the Kansas City area where they raised their children. Her husband Ray preceded her in death in 1995. Louise loved her entire family unconditionally and devoted her life to all of them. She was always the anchor of the entire extended family for many years and kept us all close and connected. She taught all of us to be kind to all, make good decisions, enjoy the simple things in life, and live by the Golden Rule. She was a friend of and loved by many, always selfless and willing to extend a helping hand. Louise is survived by her beloved sister, Nancy H Willis, of Davis CA. She is also survived by three of her four children and their spouses: Thomas Eric Gredell (Cheryl), Mark Edward Gredell (Sharla), and Kathleen Suzanne Gredell (Steve Jones). She was preceded in death by her son Michael Steven Gredell and her daughter in law Janet, as well as one grandchild, Phillip Gredell. She had 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Grandchildren: Joseph Gredell (Whitney), Erin Gredell, Phillip Gredell (deceased), Stacey Zane (Brian), Steven Gredell (Leslie), David Gredell, Matthew Gredell, Troy Gredell, Lynne Jones, Anna Nondorf (Kris). Great Grandchildren: Jaxon Gredell, Everett Gredell, Drake Zane, Donovan Zane, Gabe Gredell, Miley Gredell, Elaina Nondorf. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and other extended family, and many long-time friends, including at Santa Marta Retirement Community in Olathe Kansas where she lived happily the last 15 years of her life. The family wishes to thank all the staff and workers at Santa Marta for their help making the many years she lived there active and enjoyable. Although the sentiment is greatly appreciated by her family, expressions of sympathy in the form of flowers, charitable donations, etc, are not requested.
