Mr. Willie Norman, Sr. , 99, was born on February 10, 1924 to the late Nelson and Rosella Norman. He was the youngest of six children born of that union. He entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2023. Willie was employed in the granite industry and Elberton Manufacturing Company until his retirement in 1989. He loved his job as he got to drink coffee with his brother, Bo, everyday and just reflect on the day. He loved his wrestling, especially Ric Flair, which was evident by his enthusiastic WOOOOO which every church going person he encountered will attest to. He loved his church, Fortson Grove, deeply. He was a Deacon, which he took seriously. He started the Fortson Grove Choir. He loved singing and if you were around when he spoke of the Gospel Bells, you know that they were some bad boys with their voices. Big Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ellen. His eldest son, Johnny and his eldest grandchild, Brannon. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Cathy, Willie Jr. (Flo), Kenneth (Carolyn), Keith (Lucille) and Stacey (Pam) Norman and his LIL DAUGHTER Valerie Bradley. Anyone hoping to secure the recipes for Mammaw’s famous cakes, cookies or pies is now out of the loop, unless you got them before today. Kathryn Ellenburg Anderson, better known more affectionately by family as Mammaw or by the Harper’s family as Ma, Doodle Bug, Sally or SweetPea, has transitioned peacefully for her eternal date with glory on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Margaret Kathryn Ellenburg Anderson, was born February 6, 1928 in the Mallorysville community of Wilkes County, Georgia, to Willis and Leola Burton Ellenburg, and was raised there most of her younger years alongside her 5 brothers and 1 sister. As you may imagine, with that many siblings, that were so much older than she was, she developed a tenacity, toughness, and a spoiled stubbornness that she would exhibit until the day she left this earth. She married her forever sweetheart Gabriel Parks ‘Billy’ Anderson in 1948, and they went on to raise a beautiful family of 2 daughters and one son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A lifelong devout Baptist Christian, Kathryn loved Jesus with all her heart, and spent the majority of her life in church with her family and church family. She loved her family and friends dearly. She loved sewing for her girls with making all of their clothes till they were grown, as well as her own. She was a phenomenal cook, baker, and seamstress and shared her creations as acts of love to countless people throughout the years. The world was a better, more loving, place because of her. She is survived by children, Linda Oliver, Lexington, S. C. , BIllie Anne Smith and husband James of Tignall, Georgia, grandchildren Jamie Smith, Rischa Heape and husband Joel, Katie Wilson and husband Chris, Christopher Edenfield and wife Nicole; great grandchildren, Kolby Walton, Shelly Smith, Emmy Smith, Aiden Knotts, Chancellor, Colton and Chase Edenfield, Huck and Teddy Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Anderson and son Jeff Anderson. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Tignall Baptist Church with Rev. Chris King and Rev. Mike Wynne officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations you wish to the Tignall Baptist Church. In the endearing and echoing words to all of her children, "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. Want something to eat, or at least some cheese? " If she could speak today, she would say, "It is well with my soul. Please let me see ya later.
