Willie E. Byler, 73, of Burnham, passed away at 2:28 am, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. Born March 9, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Emanuel L. and Sadie L. Byler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two infant grand-daughters, and two brothers, Daniel H. Byler, and Norman E. Byler. He is survived by: children, Samuel J. Byler, and Malinda S. (Byler) Knepp; three grandchildren, Brittany Shreffler, Dustin Byler, and Melanie Knepp; four great-grandchildren, Caden, Jackson, Jaylinn and Benjamin; and siblings, Henry E. Byler and wife, Barb, Salinda Peachey and husband, Israel, Sylvia E. Byler, and Emanuel J. Byler; and many nieces and nephews. Willie was the president of the Owls Club and a member of the VFW Post 7011. He was employed with Poole Anderson Construction, where he retired after 26 years of service. During his career, he aided in the construction of Centre County Visitors Center, The Nittany Lion Inn, and the Juniata College. Willie spent his childhood years on his parent's farm. He enjoyed hunting on the family-owned woodlands, fishing, and picnics at Lake Raystown. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with an additional viewing from 1 to 2 pm., Saturday, April 27, 2019, with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Rock Haven Mennonite Church, 146 Peachey Rd., Belleville.
