Juventino C. Martinez, age 92, of Griffith passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Adelina; children: Leticia (Albert) Garcia, Rosa Maria (Jim) Woessner, Veronica (Alfred) Robledo, Juventino Jr (Debbie) Martinez, Lucia (Clifford Hutchison) Martinez, and Isabel (Greg) Battistella; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers: Jesus Martinez and Jaime Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Genaro and Otila; three brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave. Griffith, Indiana 46319 with Father Keith Virus officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens will follow. Friends may meet with the family on Friday November 17, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home in Griffith. Juventino was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith. He was instrumental in founding the Union Benefica Mexicana and Los Hijos de Juarez 1 where he held many positions of authority. He retired from Inland Steel after 35 years. He enjoyed travelling. He went on 26 cruises and numerous all-inclusive vacations and bus trips. Robert "Bob" William Scott was born on December 1, 1953, and passed away on October 22, 2023, from health-related causes. Bob's parents, Robert and Barbara Scott, baptized and dedicated him to God at three weeks of age. Bob graduated from Hammond High School in 1971 and went on to earn his Associates in Technology from Ivy Tech State College in 1997. He then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing from the School of Management at Purdue University Calumet in 2003. He was a mechanic by trade who obtained his ASE certification as a Certified Master Automobile Technician, and he served as a Union Representative at past employers. He loved working on and fixing cars (including his old Bronco!). Bob loved to barbecue, play pool, laugh, read, learn, and teach others. He also loved playing chess, fishing with his dad, remodeling and fixing homes, watching the Chicago Bears, and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of many years, Brenda Scott, mother, Barbara Scott, sister, Kathy (Wayne) Sheffield, children Melanie (Stephen) Lopez, Tamar Kenworthy, and Jared (Angie) Scott, along with grandchildren Dylan, Jackson, and Jacob Scott; Logan and Cole Kenworthy; and Chance and Colton Lopez. Bob was also a father to Brenda's children Antonio (Catherine) Martinez, Mellyssa (Jerry) Rodriguez, Javier (Rosalie) Peterson, and Juan Martinez Jr. He was grandfather to Victoria, Antonio, Alonzo, Brianna, Georgie, Jerry, Cynderella, Alex, Lauren, Eian, Toby, Javier, Jazlene, Eric, Nautica, Jaylen, Alivia, and Julian, and great-grandfather to Severa. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Manninger Scott (1926-2012) and brother, Steven Manning Scott (1955-1985). A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Avenue in Griffith, IN. The Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at White Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather at American Legion Post 66 at 132 N Wiggs in Griffith, IN.Show more
