Bernadette (Caroccio) Capeling, 92, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born in Oswego, NY in 1932 to Samuel and Catherine Caroccio. Bernadette worked for the Liverpool Pharmacy, K-Mart and retired from American Granby. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s the Worker and Immaculate Heart of Mary Churches. She was a member of the Pairs and Squares Dance Club. Bernadette is predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Clinton who passed away in 2021, her twin brothers, Charles and Joseph Caroccio and sisters, Marian Pullen and Natalie Alton.She leaves behind her loving family, David (Gail), Daniel (Mary), daughter, Catherine, grandchildren; Jennifer, David, Heather, Meghan, Michelle, Michael and Mckayla and great-granddaughters, Raizel and Alaina.A calling hour will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088. "Adrian Bertelli, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday February 15, 2024 at Elderwood of Liverpool. Born in Preore, Trentino, Italy, May 21, 1934 to the late Pietro and Maria (Fontanazzi) Bertelli, immigrating as a family to the US in 1948. He graduated from Vocational High School and served with the US Army with 32 years of combined active duty during the Vietnam War and Reserve duty, retiring as 1st Master Sergeant. He was a Chemical Operator at Allied Chemical for 32 years and a Machine Operator at Church and Dwight for 5 years before retiring. Adrian was a member of The Tyrol Club of Solvay, the United Steelworkers of America, the Geddes Veterans Association, the Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post 2893 and a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. He was predeceased by his brothers, Adolph and Claudio and his sister, Gianna. He is survived by his wife, Carol (McConnell); son, Robert; daughter, Jill; grandchildren, Brittany, Jared and Alec Bertelli; 3 great-grandchildren; step-son, Michael (Mary) Reed; step-daughters, Cherie (Doug) Jean and Kelly (David) Roe; 6 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 20th at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue, Solvay. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday February, 21, 2024 at the funeral home. The Rite of Committal will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Elizabeth “Betty” L. Walz, 91, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Rochester, NY on March 16, 1932. She was educated in the Catholic school system, graduating from Mercy High School. After graduation she went on to earn her R.N. degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester. After moving to Syracuse, she worked part time in labor and delivery at St. Mary’s Hospital on Court St. in Syracuse, NY. After the closing of St. Mary’s Hospital, she went on to work at St. Camillus Nursing Home and the Syracuse Developmental Center.Besides being a very caring and compassionate Nurse, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to sew, read, and babysit any chance she could. She was all about family. Betty met her husband Tom at Carter Playground in Rochester when they were in grammar school. They were later married at St. Andrews Church in Rochester.She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Thomas, her children; Tom (Bonnie) of Brandon, FL, Donna (Jim) Sprague of Liverpool, Jerry of Liverpool, Beth (Dave) Forbes of Liverpool, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, February 16, 2024 in the Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, (formerly St. Joseph the Worker Church) 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool, NY 13088. Dale Franz

"Embraced by the love of his family and the light of all that is Divine, Dale transitioned to freedom on Wednesday February 7, 2024. Born February 15, 1959, he was 64 years old. Dale was one of the most intelligent, kind and considerate people. Growing up in Clinton, NY, he graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy in 1982. Dale was a brilliant pharmacist with an exemplary work ethic. He was admired and well respected by all colleagues. He began his employment at Crouse Hospital in July 1982 and remained an integral part of pharmacy until his death. For the last several years, he was the Director of Pharmacy Services. Dale was also an outstanding carpenter and woodworker who remodeled his home and built fences, decks, gazebos, kitchen tables and other wonderful things for his family. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Sally (Greene) Franz, as well as his sister Sandy Franz. He leaves his two precious daughters Casey A. Prietti (Scott) and Angela M. Warne (Michael), as well as his best friend and mother of his children, Maryann Roefaro. He also leaves his beloved grandson Anthony Renato Prietti and was awaiting the arrival of his second grandson Oliver Michael Warne. He also leaves three brothers Eric Franz, Karl Franz (Donna) and Mark Franz (Amy). He also leaves many wonderful nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. Richard C. Cherny and the entire staff at Hematology-Oncology Associates, as well as the incredible staff on 4S at Crouse Hospital, and also the Francis House Hospice. Contributions can be made to Cancer Connects, Inc. Angel Fund. Calling hours are Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 1-3 pm at The Farone \u0026amp; Son Funeral Home Inc. 4899 W. Taft Rd. Karen was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War. She was employed as a General Manager for Hickory Farms in Syracuse, NY. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, David Judge.Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Emily Mallamace of St. Petersburg, FL., her son, Brian Judge of Syracuse, NY, seven grandchildren, especially acknowledging Alyssa Mallamace and Gage Judge. Zelma H. Cardinal

Zelma H. Cardinal, 95, passed away Thursday, February 1st, at Elderwood of Liverpool. She was born in Syracuse on June 13, 1928, graduated from Minoa High School and lived all her life in the Syracuse area. Zelma married the love of her life, Donald J. Cardinal, and they made their home in Baldwinsville, NY. They opened their home to several children through foster care and adopted four children to love and raise as their own. She was employed by the labs at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital for 25 years, a position from which she retired in 2006 and left with many fond memories and great friends. Zelma was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Baldwinsville for much of her life. In her later years, daughter, Pat, and son-in-law, Mike helped care for her until Pat's passing in 2022. She moved to Brookdale Assisted Living where she was cared for and continued to build great friendships. She was pre-deceased by her parents Otto H. Hayes, Sr., and Winifred (Nortz) Hayes; husband Donald J. Cardinal; daughter Patricia Actisdano; four brothers Paul , John, Hubert and Otto Hayes; sister Mary Chrysler, sisters-in-law Arlene, Wilma, and Mary Ann Hayes. Zelma is survived by her daughter Teresa Burrhus, Cross Plains TX; two sons, Timothy M (Caroline), Moyock, NC, and Jeffrey J. (Kelly) Fairport, NY; son-in-law Michael Actisdano; six grandchildren, Christiana, Tommy, Laura, Sarah, Madison, and Grace; sister-in-law Alice Hayes; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Tuesday, February 6, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. A funeral service will begin at 1PM. Zelma will be laid to rest with Don at Riverview Cemetery, 70 Tappan Street in Baldwinsville.

William James May, 79 of Liverpool, passed away January 10, 2024. He was born in Syracuse, NY. Bill retired from S.M. Flickinger Co where he was a union steward and a member of Teamster’s Local 317. He was the first person everyone called when there was an emergency; whether it was car, home, health, or heart. Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends on his boat and island. He was predeceased by his parents William and Mary (Berardi) May, and recently his brother-in-law Arthur Smith. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rose (Bombardo) May, his son Brian May, his daughter Robin (John) Beel, and his siblings: Barbara Smith, Sherri (Charles) Moe, Cindy Baker, and Robert (Susan) May. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren: Mary Kate, Shannon, Payton, and Trevor Beel. Family and friends are invited to a mass that will be held at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville, NY, at 10am on February 10, 2024. The mass will be live streamed on the church’s website: staugustinesparish.org . Those who wish to meet with the family prior to the mass may do so beginning at 9am. Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of Bill’s life at St. Augustine's Parish Hall from 11am -3pm. Food and beverages will be provided. Michael D. "Big Mike" Kent-Isaacs, 44, of Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a long battle with kidney disease. Michael grew up in Syracuse, NY and Wickenburg, Arizona. He worked at Crouse Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 14 years and took so much pride in being a nurse. He enjoyed collecting football cards, building Star Wars Legos, going to the casino, cooking, grilling and fishing (or as he would say catching!). Mike even began making his very own fishing lures. He loved going to dinner with his wife for sushi, seafood or Mexican food. Mike was a die-hard Arizona Cardinals fan, had an extensive sneaker collection and enjoyed his Bud Lights when he was drinking with friends and family. He will be dearly missed and always remembered for his sense of humor, always making people smile and laugh! Mike was so generous; he had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need anytime.He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jennifer (Barry) Kent-Isaacs, his mother, Joanne (Kent) Sanders, his mother and father-in-law, Tom and Maureen Barry, several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, stepbrother, Nick Sanders, his life-long best friend, Matthew Garcia, his Silver Lab pals Blue and Luna along with countless friends who will never forget him.
