Ruth A Porter, 84 of Sandy Creek passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024 at the Manor at Seneca Hill. She had worked at Birds Eye Food Corp, Nestle Food Corp, Lolly Mfg. but her passion and dedication of caring for others was utmost in her life. She loved gardening, creating works of Art, her expertise in knitting enabled her to create many gifts and heirlooms for her family. "Family First” whether it was by blood or being chosen, Ruth had a heart of gold. She was predeceased by her parents: Harvey and Catherine Brownell Seymour, as well as siblings: Barbara Jean, Harvey J. Seymour, and Catherine Hough. Her husband Richard E. Porter of 33 years. She is survived by: Donna Reed, Bill (Pat) Seymour, David (Marion) Seymour. She will be forever missed by her children: Diane Archibee (Kip), Richard, Robert (Melissa), Earl, Eric (Deborah) Porter Denise Hall, Deborah (Randall) Phillips; 18 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 1PM-3PM Wednesday February 28, with a Memorial service to follow at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second St. Oswego, NY 13126.Spring burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery.

Maria S Kehoe (formally Maria Del Socorro Domingues), passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on February 1, 2024. She was 31 day short of celebrating her 100th birthday. Born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico on March 3, 1924. After emigrating to the United States, Maria married Bernard J. Kehoe of Sandy Creek, New York on September 4th, 1965, where together they owned and operated a dairy farm with Bernard’s brother Darrell Kehoe for over 40 years. She is predeceased by her husband Bernard, her parents, Manuel Dominguez and Aurora Segura De Dominguez, a sister, and two brothers. She is survived by her sister-in-law Katheen LaComb, several nieces and nephews and cousins. As per Maria’s wishes, a private ceremony honoring her life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, New York Contributions in Maria’s memory, can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Dennis C. Constance, 62, of Sandy Creek, NY, passed away May 10, 2023 at the Samaritan Medical Center. He was born on July 2, 1960 in Watertown, NY, son of Vernal and Navella (VanDuser) Constance. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1978. He went to SUNY Oswego where he studied music. Dennis has resided in Sandy Creek his whole life where he was a self employed handyman for several years. He loved playing the drums and was in many different bands over the years. He loved riding his Harley Motorcycle and enjoyed participating in memorial and benefit rides. He was a man of faith, he enjoyed the outdoors, music festivals, going to concerts, camping and was a collector of comic books, trading cards, and he enjoyed playing magic cards with his great nephew Gavin. Among his survivors are two sisters and a brother in law, Dawn M. (Randy) Tamblin, Adams, NY, Donna Cole, Roswell, NM; four nieces, Tracy (Jordan) Cooper, Navella and Amy Constance, and Tabitha Nicholson; many great nieces and nephews. Martha (Marty) M. Maloney, 81, of Sandy Creek, NY, went home to be with our Lord, April 9, 2022, her loving family by her side. Born August 13, 1940 to the late William and Dorothy LaManche of East Syracuse, Marty resided most of her life on Sandy Pond. She was a loving and giving mother, adored by her 9 children, as well as a fun and doting grandmother. She worked many years as a waitress for Greg's Restaurant and the Intermission Restaurant in Syracuse. She was an excellent bowler in her day and owned and operated "Pair A Dice" collectables for many years. She was passionate about the Yankees, Syracuse Basketball, collecting antiques, and reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Maloney, son David (Mickey) Quonce, daughters Ruth Casciere, Mary Anderson, and Christine Moyer, her sister Margaret Small and her brothers Kenneth and William (Billy) LaManche. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Donald Quonce (Jennifer), Susan Henry (Gregg), Marty Dillabough (Michael), Sandy Ballou (Jamie), and Margaret Maloney (Mark), step son Ken Maloney, Jr. , her sister, Dorothy Doane, her 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the Spring. Nancy L. Brosch, 60 of Sandy Creek, NY. Passed away suddenly Saturday November 27, 2021. She was born on November 26, 1961 in Watertown, NY to Ralph and Betty (Groves) Lundgren. She graduated from Pulaski Academy Central School in 1981. She attended and graduated from JCC with an associate degree in business. She worked for Addis company, Empsall's, and retired from National Grid after 20 years of service. She married Scott Brosch on July 23,1983 at Park United Methodist Church in Pulaski, NY. They have two children Michael Brosch and Jessica Gregory with her husband Cody. They have 3 grandchildren Levi (Jessica and Cody), Ava and Kinley (Michael's children). Survived by her sister's Barbara Conklin, Lynn Rickabaugh and Sally Chapman, sister in-laws Carol LaRock and Rita Beaver, Brother in-law Thomas Brosch and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She loved being a mother to her children and wife to her husband. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She enjoyed theater, music, singing, shopping for clothes, especially her coach purses. Her hobbies were collecting angels, word searches, genealogy and especially camping in the adirondacks with family and friends. Her favorite time was spending it with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She always called her grandson Levi her little love bug and said that she loved her grandchildren to the moon and back. Calling hours will be held at Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, NY on Tuesday December 7, 2021 at 3:00p till 6:00p. There will be a brief prayer at 6:00p. A Burial will be held in the spring. Donna was born on June 29, 1942 to Roswell and Genevieve (Saint) Curtis in Watertown, NY. Donna loved animals, sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking, word search puzzles and her family. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Norman, her 4 brothers (Ralph, Richard, Dwayne, George) and sister (Shirley). Those left to cherish her memories are son Kevin and wife Lorrie of Burlington, NC, son Korey and wife Shannon of Catawba, NC, daughter Kandie Goessl and husband Mike of Mexico, NY, daughter Paula White of Syracuse, NY. Also, several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Great nieces and great nephews. The Funeral Service for Steven J Washburn, 60, of Sandy Creek, NY will be held on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 11am at Summerville Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell, NY following the funeral service. Steve passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2021 at his home. He is survived by his daughter Brittany M. Washburn, three sisters Ann (Ron) Rogers, Lynda Washburn, and Amy Collins. Two brothers, Bob (Tina) Washburn, and Jon (Amy) Washburn as well as several nieces and nephews. He was born in Watertown, NY on July 22, 1961. Son of James and Joan (Stinson) Washburn. Steve graduated from South Jefferson Central School in 1980. He worked his Junior and Senior years at SJCS as a custodian. After graduating, he helped with the family farm on Balch Place Road. They sold the family farm on 5/1/1987. Steve was employed as a custodian with the Sandy Creek Central School District and retired as the Head Custodian on 9/30/2017 after 30 years of service. He was also a Sandy Creek Village Trustee for 10 years. He owned and operated Washburn Janitor & Lawn Service. He was also the VP & President of the SCCS Support Staff (NYSUT). He loved to sit on his front porch with his dogs, and a good cigar. He loved chit chatting with the neighbors over a hot cup of coffee. He loved spending time with his daughter and their dogs. He also loved bowling which is news to his family. Steve will be missed by many. Donations may be made in his honor to the United Friends of Homeless Animals in Richland, NY or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
