On Thursday, April 20, 2023, William Edward "Bill" Simpson, Sr. , of West Chester, PA, surrounded by his family, passed away at his home. He was 79 years old. William was born in Rhodesville, Virginia in 1943, the son of the late Randolph Simpson and Frances (Carter) Simpson. He was the beloved husband of Carol J. (Evans) Simpson. William was a hard-working man and was the best grass cutter in the area. He cut grass riding the tractor for the West Chester school district. He enjoyed watching country westerns and cowboys and indians movies. He was a fan of the Seattle Sea Hawks, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia 76ers, which was his favorite basketball team. William would often be seen wearing his straw hats and playing the lottery, and he loved eating his daughter Tammy's potato salad, fried fish, and baked macaroni and cheese. He was predeceased by daughter Jennifer Simpson, and son William "BJ" Simpson Jr. ; grandchildren, Shanell Young, Shakeem Simpson, Aaron Simpson Jr. ; siblings, Renee Jackson, Shirley Washington, Charlotte Fowlkes, Lawrence Simpson, Hallem Rahim, William Elwood Simpson; and best friend Willie Robert Clark. He is survived by Children, Tammy Young (David) of Chester, PA, Tina Simpson of Coatesville, Aaron Simpson, Sr. , of West Chester, William Evans (Tanya) of West Chester, Sarah Singletary (Shawn) of West Chester, Jesse Evans of West Chester; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Surrender All Fresh Manna Ministries, 117 3rd Street Oxford, PA 19363, with a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM.
