It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved father, uncle, and friend, Billy Scaldeferri. He left this world on October 4, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and an unwavering love for the sport of horse racing. Billy was born on June 22, 1936 in Philadelphia to John and Sara (nee Massimini). From an early age, it was clear that he possessed a unique zest for life and a magnetic sense of humor that drew people to him like a magnet. His quick wit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to know him. Billy was an excellent athlete, but one of his true loves was the sport of horse racing, a love affair that would last a lifetime. From the early days at the racetrack, to his final days at the Palumbo Club, he studied the Racing Form like an encyclopedia. He was known to say the blood lines were the key. And so was true with his. His kindness showed thru his smile, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. His love for horse racing was not just about the thrill of the race but also about the camaraderie and friendships formed along the way. He cherished the conversations, debates, and shared moments with fellow fans, creating lasting bonds that extended beyond the racetrack. He is predeceased by his wife Alberta (nee Simpson) and his sister Carole (Richard). He is survived by his son Billy, his daughter Nicole Duffy (Michael), his niece Andrea, her children (Dante, Andre, Sara and Christian) and his grandchildren Billy and Rocco Scaldeferri and Kara Duffy, who were the apple of his eye. Relatives and friends are invited to Billy's viewing at St Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA Friday, October 13th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 Am, Funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Interment private.
