William L. Riggs was born on January 2, 1945, to the late Clinton and Willie Mae Riggs in Coatopa, Alabama. Preceding him in death are five brothers, Sedrick Riggs, John W. Riggs, Benjamin Riggs, Naamon Riggs, and Alfred Issac. William confessed his belief in Christ at an early age at Macedonia CME Church, Boligee, Alabama. He attended Green County High School in Boligee. He later moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated from Hayes High School. He became a member of Harmony First Baptist Church, and was a very devoted choir member. He worked for S.M.I. Corporation for many years until he became ill. In 2009, William became very ill and moved in with his brother and sister-in-law Earnestine and Brenda Riggs. They became his primary caregivers until his death. He was a devoted father and a devoted Christian. He loved God. He also enjoyed playing Bingo and watching sports such as baseball, football, and basketball. He leaves to mourn his two sons: Jeffery Riggs and Demetrius Riggs; three grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Earnestine and Brenda Riggs of Birmingham, AL, Edward and Lillie Riggs of Compton, CA, L. C. Riggs of Long Beach, CA and Minnie Riggs of Gilbert, AZ; four sisters: Dorothy Cox of Memphis, TN, Doris Riggs of Inglewood, CA, Catherine Riggs of Riversid, CA, and Mattie and Frank McHenry of Moreno Valley, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. favorite_border Donations Pledges
