William Floyd Prater, Jr. , 67, passed away October 4, 2023 in Weatherford, Texas. A service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. The interment will follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park. Bill was born January 10, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to William Floyd Prater, Sr. and Margaret Ann Boyle. Bill attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas where he received a Bacherlors degree in teaching. Bill was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Granbury. Bill is survived by his Dad, William Prater Sr. ; sister: Beth Martin; brothers: Tim Prater and Tom Prater; and numerous loving family members. In lieu of flowers, make a memorial donation in Bill's name to the American Diabetes Association. Under the director of Martin's Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas.

Engelina Christina Spieker (Chris), aged 97, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 in Weatherford, Texas. She was surrounded by her immediate family. Born in 1926 in Amsterdam, Holland, she was a witness to history. She saw her home country invaded and occupied by Nazi forces and endured many hardships during her teenage years. She married Herman van de Oudeweetering during the war and they had a daughter, Mieke. The marriage ended during the war. She met and married the love of her life Marinus Spieker, in Amsterdam, Holland in 1947 which endured until his death the day after their anniversary in 2008, for a total of 61 years together. Once married, they established a residency in New Jersey where she was able to become a US citizen. Later they moved to Germany where daughter Sandra was born. When they moved to Richardson, Texas in 1955, she and Marinus raised daughters, Mieke and Sandra, filled with Dutch nuances, traditions, and a smattering of the Dutch language. In 1961 she took courses in Dallas where she studied cosmetology and became a hairdresser. She had many clients in Richardson, and later Houston, Texas where eventually she retired. Her favorite sport was bowling, and she participated in a league over the years in Richardson, Houston, and Plano. She also loved golf, sports cars, gardening, tulips, chocolate, bacon, and rearranging furniture. She was a wonderful cook. She is predeceased by her daughter, Mieke Van de Oudeweetering of Groningen, Holland and her granddaughter Alice van de Oudeweetering, also of Groningen. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Spieker Ringo and her son-in-law, Danny of Weatherford. Grandchildren include Aaron Ringo and daughter-in-law, Tonye Shoemaker-Ringo, of Weatherford, Peter and Menno ter Braak, Tijl, and Conchita van de Oudeweetering and Simone Monasch, all living in the Netherlands. She had 9 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, all those also of the Netherlands. Truly she had a life well lived. The family wishes to express gratitude to Brookdale Assisted Living of Weatherford, for their excellent care, and friendship in her last year and half, and to Saint Garbriel's hospice for making her final journey peaceful and filled with love. Thomas Matthew Theobald, 54, of Weatherford, TX, was called to Heaven on November 15, 2023, after an 8 1/2 year battle with colon cancer. Tom was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 14, 1969, to Joseph Theobald and Margaret Kelly. He was the second of four children. In his early childhood he became a die-hard Steelers fan. In 1978, the family moved to DFW, where he spent most of his life in and around Weatherford, TX. Tom was a laid-back guy whose humor could keep you laughing for days. After high school he had various jobs in warehouse and delivery. Tom loved all things sports related. You could ask him about any sport from football to golf, and everything in between, and he would have an answer. He loved reading, listening to country music, going to the lake and hanging out with family and friends. After his diagnosis, Tom would participate in the Colon Cancer Coalition 5k's, and encouraged everyone to get screened early. Tom was a fighter. His optimism is what helped push him through all of life's punches. He will be dearly missed. Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kelly. He is survived by his daughter, Katelynn Theobald; father, Joseph Theobald and wife Diane; brother, Joseph Theobald Jr. ; sisters, Michele Elwell and husband Lucas, Heather Shook and husband Terry and their children Haley, Hannah, Maddie and Matthew Shook; step brothers, Danny Carr and wife Viviana, Mac Carr and wife Marjorie; aunts, Beth Bovio, Patti Strack and husband Bob; uncles, Larry Kelly, Bob Kelly and Bill Kelly, Bill Theobald and wife Regina, Jamie Theobald and wife Shelly; grandfather, William J. Georgia Lynn Huddleston, Nana, 81, passed from this life to eternal life on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Georgia was born February 2, 1942, in Inglewood, California to the late A. W. (Aldine) Herrington and Winnie Mae (Cox) Herrington. Survived by her sister, Carol Gober, and brother, Rex Herrington. Georgia is also survived by Don Huddleston, ex-Husband/lifelong friend; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Loretta Huddleston of Weatherford, Texas; son, Doug Huddleston of O'Fallon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Holly Gray, (Eric) Heath Huddleston, (Joeli) Jordan Aulgur, (Simon) and Brooke Huddleston; three great grandchildren, Ashlei Massey, Caleigh Gray, and Maddy Huddleston; and many nieces and nephews. Georgia retired as an Administrative Assistant, and believed her greatest accomplishment was raising her two sons. She will be remembered for her love of family, creativity, and inspiration. Georgia loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always excited as she watched them grow and achieve life goals. Georgia was introduced to the world of Bonsai plants by her grandson-in-law, Eric Gray, and became very passionate about growing and studying them. She joined a Bonsai group, and loved taking care of her collection with joy. Georgia loved talking and socializing with many friends and family. Janice Lynn Hill Armstrong Bowling came into the world on June 7, 1948. She departed peacefully in her sleep on Sept 26, 2023, at the age of 75. Janice graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1966 and attended Sam Houston State University where she earned her B. A. in Elementary Education. She attended Texas Women's University to work on her masters in Elementary Education. Janice wore many hats in her varied career. She was always a never tiring advocate for those with disabilities, especially mobility issues, and effected positive change wherever she was. In 1975, she was the chairman of the campaign for Richmond-Rosenberg and Sugar Land branch of the Arthritis Foundation. After the death of her first husband, John M. Armstrong, Janice became the first commissioned female Exxon Bulk Agent selling fuel and oil. She worked for Imperial Sugar in the Human Resources Department writing job descriptions and then moved to the refinery side and acted as a facilitator between management and union members. She taught school in LCISD and was a teacher who loved her students, going above and beyond what was required. Janice was trained and certified in Reading Recovery, the first such facilitator and teacher in LCISD. She brought her wonderful creativity to the classroom and made learning fun. Janice was an adventurer who was well traveled. She shared life and many trips with her long-time friends since elementary school, known as the Magnolias: Dianna Berg, Sue Nichols and Kathleen McMahon. The "Mags" lived all the ups and downs of life with each other and made lots of fond memories together. She loved her children and grandchildren; they were her whole world. She would tell them that they will always be connected by an invisible string, regardless of where they might be. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Hill; her first husband, Johnny Armstrong; her son, Joel Armstrong-Bowling; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Kim Armstrong-Bowling; nephew, Jarrod Wittneben; and cousin, Greg Barker. She leaves behind her daughter, Jill and husband, Zach Savory; grandsons, Damon Puckett and Connor Savory; granddaughters, Shelby and Hope Savory; her second husband, John Bowling; sisters, Debra Singler, and Renee and husband, Clay Wittneben. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives as well as a multitude of friends. Janice will be remembered for her love of music, loving and caring manner, her energy and enthusiasm, and her contagious laughter and smile. Those closest to her will remember her quirky fears of cotton balls and chickens, of which she was a good sport when pranks were pulled. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Helen Marie Veal, 96, of Weatherford, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at her home. Helen was born at home in rural Johnson County, Texas on April 26, 1927. Helen grew up a farm girl, graduated from Godley High School and played as a guard on the school's 6 person women's basketball team. After high school, Helen married John Veal, a returning World War 2 veteran and Bronze Medal recipient of the US 36th Division on January 15, 1946. Following John's re-enlistment in the U. S. Army, Helen and John traveled throughout the United States with stints at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Fort Dix, New Jersey, eventually settling in Fort Worth, Texas. Helen worked in a variety of professions including photography, cosmetic sales and insurance claims processing. She was a longtime member of Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church and St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had a passion for travel to the piney woods of East Texas and dancing, often found on the dance floor of the St. Francis Village community. She was a self-taught keyboard player and loved playing her cherished Hammond organ. Following John's death in 1994, Helen married Carl McDonald and enjoyed 14 years of dancing and RV travel with Carl until his death in 2009. Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Forsyth, mom, Delma Forsyth, father N. C. "Bud" Forsyth, and granddaughter, Stefanie Veal. She is survived by her son, Steven Veal, daughter-in-law, Kathy Tokheim Veal, grandchildren, Brian Christopher Veal, Lindsay Marie Veal and Kelley Veal Liley, great grandchildren, Taylor Anne Veal, Ashlee Marie Cantrell, Avery Mae Liley, Weston Charles Liley, and great-great grandson, Adrian Victor Cantrell-Casillas, and niece Vicky Forsyth. Patsy Ann "Patti" Clune, 58, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2023. She was born on December 30,1965, at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to Richard and Patsy Taylor. Patti was the third of three daughters. Graveside service: 1:30 Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas. Everyone that knew Patti, knew she was determined, hard-headed and independent but had a great sense of humor and a fun-loving, tender, loving heart. From an early age, she was known as "No-No Patti" and "Patti Damnit" by family friends. While still very young, she had a passion for riding her pony Pickles and her Appaloosa Ravioli. After the passing of her mother, she devoted herself to dancing becoming an exceptional dancer. Her talent was showcased in multiple dance recitals and when she became lieutenant on her high school drill team. Patti enjoyed dancing to good country music and never turned down the opportunity to have a Coors Light or indulge in Mexican food. She had a strong Christian spirit and was a devoted friend, sister, and daughter. Patti is survived by her sisters, Angelia Taylor Jensen and Belinda Taylor Black, as well as her nieces, Stephanie Doggett, Ashley Denman, and Kelli Higgins. She is also survived by her step-mother, Lois Sanders; and step-brothers, Les Farrington, Mitchell Farrington, and Steve Farrington. Patti was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Ann Williams Taylor, her father, Ben Richard Taylor, and her husband, Michael Clune. Patti attended LD Bell High School and later pursued her higher education at North Texas State University obtaining a BS in Business. She had a successful career with the American Gem Association. Patti will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her determination, sense of humor, and love for dancing will always be remembered.
