William Kenneth "Bill" Norris, 74 of East Chicago, passed away Thursday at his home. Born January 22nd 1948, died June 16th 2022. Known to all as "Uncle Bill" he was preceded in death by his parents Jack K & Lillian R. Norris sisters Suzanne R. Norris and Mary Elizabeth Norris (Hawk, Pranaitis, Artist). Uncle Bill was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School, Class of 1966 and played on two state championship football teams for the Rough Riders. After graduating he was employed at Inland Steel for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was unmarried and didn't have children of his own but stepped up as a father figure to his nephews. He is survived by his two nephews Jack (Cherie) Pranaitis and Joseph Pranaitis; great nieces and nephews; along with brother-in-laws Charlie (late Mary) Artist, James Artist sister-in-laws Virginia (Steve) Haviley and Jeannette (Joe) Bailey. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 7:30p. m. at the , 1235-119 St. , Whiting, with Pastor Paul Vale of the New Life Christian Church, Whiting, officiating; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm to time of services.
