Obituary Dorothy OttenDorothy Ann Otten, nee Temenak age 85, passed away suddenly on Nov. 23, 2023. Dorothy and her husband, Harry were part of several communities including Mt. Greenwood, Midlothian, Green Garden/Peotone, and Lockport. Faith and Family were their core values that they instilled in their 6 children. They were blessed to have 13 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Dorothy was a devout Catholic and was enthusiastic to share her Faith, first as a teacher in a Catholic school, later as the Director of CCD at St. Boniface in Monee and finally, as a Religious Education teacher at St. Joseph's Lockport. While she dedicated herself to raising her children, she also found a fulfilling career later in life as a postal carrier. Being able to establish relationships along her route gave her great satisfaction. She had a contagious laugh and was always the life of a party. Her generosity and compassion made her the person that everyone called "friend". She is survived by her adoring children, Mark (Anita), Madonna (Nick), Phil (Jeanie), Joe (Sue), Tom (Irene), Kurt (Linda). 13 Grandchildren, Leah, Amber (Steve), Danielle (Brandon), Lauren (Kris), Victoria (David), Zach (Macy), Eric (Jackie), Heather (Dean), Amber (Joey), Faith (Paul), Kara, Greg and Justin. She was blessed with 22 Great Grandchildren, Evelyn, Elaina, Silas, Theo, Felicity, Miriam, Annalise, Kayley, Beckett, Sophia, Grayson, Mikayla, Charlie Jean, Tucker, Durham, Riley, Reese, Brady, Brenna, Joseph, Junia, and Lydia. Dorothy was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband, Harry, her beloved parents, Helen and Frank Temenak and her brother Bud. Visitation will be held Dec. 1st from 3pm-8pm at Goodale Memorial Chapel 912 S. Hamilton St, Lockport, IL 60441, (815)838-1533. Mass of Christian Burial December 2, 2023, 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 500 S. Jefferson St. , Lockport, IL 815-838-0187. Interment to follow privately.Show more
