Edward GarciaHELPER-Edward Garcia, our loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2024. He was born in the mining town of Crested Butte, CO on January 29, 1939 to Enrique and Socorro Garcia. They later moved the family to Helper. He worked various jobs to help his family when he was young. He had a special connection to his mother.He married Tina Valdez in 1961 and had two daughters, Alane and Jackie; they later divorced. He married Pam Sanfelice in 1995 in Grand Junction.He worked for Rio Grande Railroad for many years in Helper till they closed the operations down, then moved to Grand Junction to continue his work with the railroad. Edward was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church for many years and was dedicated to his faith.Edward enjoyed going to Wendover and playing the slot machines, he especially enjoyed making his hard candy to share with his friends at church bingo. He enjoyed listening to his music and telling his stories to his kids and grandkids. He loved doing his puzzles and his home is filled with them. He loved making his spaghetti for everyone, a recipe he received from his mother. Edward had a strong work ethic all his life, which he instilled in his daughters.A special thank you to Clay and Kathryn Rasmussen for always looking out and helping him. His bond with Clay was an incredibly special one. Special thanks to Danny and Mary Key, and Logan Brewer for their continued support. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Alane (Mark) Moats, Jackie (Gary) Arrington, Gino Sanfelice, Gina (Evan) Hay, and Chris Sanfelice; his grandchildren, Scott (Brandi) Halverson, Derek Halverson, Holly (Kamron) Atwood, Jacob (Heather) Atwood, Shiann (Derek) Atwood, Zeke (Allie) Atwood, Erika Straus, Landon Hay, and many great-grandchildren; his siblings, Rose Christiansen, Raymond (Neida) Garcia, and Henry (Ester) Garcia.Preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Socorro Garcia; his sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Sam) Velis; brother, Gilbert Garcia; brother-in-law, Chris Christiansen; mother-in-law, Beatrice Luckinbill and daughter, Yvette Sanfelice.Funeral Mass, Monday, March 11, 2024, 10:00 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper, Utah. Vigil service, Sunday, March 10, 2024, 7:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Family will receive friends Sunday evening and Monday morning one hour prior to services. Committal will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper. He won the Grand Mesa Scholarship and attended four years at Mesa State College. Johnny was a successful concept design artist. He is survived by his immediate family: mother Colleen Pahl, father John B. Pahl, brother Andrew Pahl, and sister Elizabeth Hanlon.

Sandra "Sandi" Lee Stevenson (Carr) passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of 26 February 2024 in her Grand Junction Colorado home at the age of 75. Sandi spent the afternoons with her bowling league friends, playing with her furry dogs (past and present) and loved to garden and watch the butterflies and birds while sitting on her back porch. Sandi leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, James Lee Stevenson, her son James Jr, her daughter LeeAnn, her brother Steve Carr, her five grand daughters Rebecca, Baylee, AJ, Justine and Holly, three grandsons Connor, Devin and Kash and her two great grandchildren Jeovany Leo and Melody Rosemarie.

George William Lewellen "Bill" passed away Sunday February 25, 2024 after a long illness at the age of 73.He was born April 15, 1950 in Del Norte, Colorado to George Lewellen and Glaydes Bauer. He served in the Army with an honorable discharge on April 1, 1972. He married the love of his life Lisa on June 5, 1982. He was an optician for over 40 years and worked for Darnell Optical, McKissen Optical and Dr. George Tull.His true joy and happiness was spending time with his family. He was a kind simple man and everyone who knew him loved him.He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother and sister and son in law David King. He is survived by his wife Lisa, sons Kevin (Melissa), George "G.W", daughters Tawnya , Tiffany (Dustin). Grandchildren Katelyn, Brielle, Kaisley, Kyla, Kaitlin (Adam), Nick, Rylin, Trenna, and great grandchild Finnegan and forever friend/brother Carlos Fields (Vicki).Memorial services will be held Saturday March 2, 2024 at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 2542 G Road, Grand Junction.

Donald Glenn Coulson, age 88 died February 20, 2024. He was born December 6, 1935 in Grand Junction. He was born to the late Kenneth Coulson Sr. and Mae Coulson. He had a brother Kenneth Coulson Jr. who proceeded him in death. He grew up in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction Hish School in 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a Private in the Korean conflict and spent time in Korea. After his time in the military, he lived in Grand Junction and married Anita Worsham, they had three daughters. They were later divorced. He worked as a postal worker, Freight delivery driver and later retired as a custodian for the school district. He enjoyed woodworking and making beautiful pieces and furniture for himself and others in his woodworking shop. In his earlier years he enjoyed showing horses, fishing, camping, and riding dirt bikes. Don met and fell in love with his longtime partner Beverly Manley, she proceeded him in death. He was dedicated to being a compassionate caregiver to her after she suffered a stroke, and did that for many years until her death. Don is survived by his daughters, Donita (Bob) Foust, Cindy (Darren) Starr, Laurie (Jim) Purcell, 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial Service/Military honors and internment will be held at the Grand Junction Veterans Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway. 3:00 PM on March 22, 2024. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Hope West\Hospice.
