William Kelson Obituary

William "Skip" Kelson, 66, of Westville passed away at 3:49 AM on April 21, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Skip was born on January 9, 1957 the son of Milton and Elmira (Dalton) Kelson in Danville, IL. He married Cindy Kinney on January 23, 1982 in Ridge Farm, IL and she survives. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Kelson of Westville, IL, his siblings, Nancy (James) Henk of Chicago, IL, Milt "Spark" (Melody) Kelson of West Lebanon, IN, and Deborah (Patrick) Gray of Peoria, IL, his stepdaughter, Mandy (Doug Thomas) Hendrix of Westville, IL and his beloved dogs, "Addy" and "Gracie". Skip is preceded in death by his parents. Skip retired as a Gas Journeyman with Ameren Illinois in 2022. He enjoyed spending his free time going to Tunica, MS, gambling, and played softball, bowled, and golfed in his younger years. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Skip's memory to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
