William Joseph Kelly, Sr, age 67, a well known and loved auto mechanic of Murfreesboro, TN has passed away at his home Thursday, October 5, 2023. Mr. Kelly is survived by his children William Joseph Kelly, Jr. , of Murfreesboro, TN, Robert Allen Kelly of Bradyville, TN and Angela Renee Kelly of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Eternity, Damien, Jasmine, Trinity, Triston, Emma and Jaylynn; siblings John Joseph Kelly, Jr. (Jennifer) of New Mexico, Catherine Victoria Davenport (Thomas) of Tennessee, Kevin Patrick Kelly (Debra) of Alabama, Timothy Patrick Kelly (Lee) of Mississippi and Patrick Joseph Kelly (Hope) of Ohio. He was preceded in death by parents John and Anna Kelly, brother Daniel Joseph Kelly and granddaughter Gabrielle. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Mrs. Dorothy Jane Patterson Barnes, age 82, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away peacefully Friday, December 1, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born in Rutherford County, TN to the late Hamm and Minnie White Patterson. Mrs. Barnes loved being a homemaker to her family throughout the generations raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as long as she was able. It was normal for her to have anywhere from two to ten children at her home. She looked after the flowers in her garden and made sure they stayed as undisturbed as possible. Mrs. Barnes kept a close watch on Days of Our Lives. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her children, Charles Barnes and his wife Marilyn, Gracie Breedlove, Dorris Barnes, Linda Barnes, Lonnie Barnes, and Howard Patterson; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Charles Patterson, Nell Stroud, Hazel Brewer and her husband Hollis, and Linda Tate; many nieces and nephews; special cousins, Annette Lawhorne and Glen and Shirley Potts; sister-in-law, Bernice Gilley and her husband Burt; and cat, Jasmine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doris Charles Barnes, and a daughter, Dorothy Sue Barnes. Visitation with the family will be Monday, December 4, 2023 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.Show more

Bradley "Brad" Lee White, age 60, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born on July 28, 1963 in Nashville, TN to Bractor and Helen (Lunsford) White. He was preceded in death by his father and his beloved dog, Mac. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Trisha; his mother, Helen; his 3 sisters, Cathy (Frank) Moore, Marlene (Gerry) McGregor, Mary (Nicholas) Schneider; and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Brad was a 1981 graduate of Smyrna High School. He later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1986 with a finance degree and again in 1989 with an accounting degree and from City University of Seattle in 2000 with a Masters of Business Administration. He was most recently employed as a Corporate Cost Accountant at Gathr Outdoors in Brentwood, TN. His role at Gathr Outdoors allowed him to work in the industry that was his passion. He enjoyed everything outdoors such as biking, hiking, occasionally hitting golf balls at the driving range and photography. He loved traveling anywhere in the United States. His favorite vacation spot was Yellowstone National Park which he visited 15 times. He loved the Lord and most recently attended Northside (Baptist) Church. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 30,2023 from 5:00-7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at the chapel on the next day, Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10am. His brother-in-law, Frank Moore, will officiate. Violet Bronson, age 81, a former resident of Walton County, Florida passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee after a long illness. She was born June 10, 1942, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to the late William and Earda Goldino. Violet, along with her family, moved from Osceola County to Walton County in the late 70's. She gained employment as a bookkeeper at Maude Saunders Elementary School and continued until retirement. She was an avid scrapbooker; her masterpieces were treasures for her family. Violet was a dedicated church member of Gaskin Baptist Church, where she not only sang in the choir, but enjoyed teaching Sunday School classes throughout the years. After her husband, Billy, passed away in 2016, it became necessary for her to leave Walton County to be near her family in Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Brunson and one sister, Jean Clark. Violet is survived by one son, Bret Bronson and wife, Jennifer; two grandsons, Jarrett Bronson and Jacob Bronson and wife, Kelsey; one granddaughter, Breyanne Osborne; two great-grandchildren, Wrenlee Bronson and Gabe Osborne; two sisters, Ina Swezey and husband, Tom, and Vinnie Hanlon and husband, Mike; and her church family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Gaskin Baptist Church, 107 County Highway 181 East, Westville, Florida 32464, beginning at 11 a. m. with Reverend Jerry Turner officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Gaskin Cemetery. William "Bill" Henry Witherow, Jr. , age 81, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 24, 2023. He was a native of Lansford, PA and the son of the late William H. Witherow, Sr. and Margaret Mary McLaughlin Witherow. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Witherow Underwood; sister, Margaret Mary Witherow Zaldaris; and brother, Robert B. Witherow. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith Walker Witherow and daughters, Lisa Witherow Underwood (Terry) and Lori Witherow Williams along with grandchildren, Madison Underwood, Dylan Williams, and Hayden Williams. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Coaldale, PA on December 14, 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Lansford High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. His talent in football and academic prowess earned him a scholarship to Columbia University where he played guard for the Columbia Lions and was a part of the 1961 Ivy League Championship team. He studied civil engineering at Columbia. After college, he joined the United States Air Force where he began to work on airplane radar systems and became proficient with technology during the advent of the computer age. After the Air Force, Bill joined the Western Electric Company in Allentown, PA where he worked as a computer engineer. In 1976, Bill moved his family to Nashville, TN to work as a computer engineer at Service Merchandise Company. He retired from Service Merchandise in 2000 as the assistant vice president of their micro information systems department. Bill and Judy moved to Murfreesboro in 2000 to be nearer to their grandchildren, Zach and Madison. Bill enjoyed a post-retirement gig as a beloved science lab volunteer and substitute teacher at Erma Siegel Elementary. As his grandchildren grew older, he also became a substitute teacher at Siegel Middle School. Bill was known as the "Clark Griswold" of the family and relished travel with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Some of his favorite spots were the Hawaiian Islands and Disney World. He and Judy enjoyed traveling the world during their retirement. Bill was an avid Penn State Football fan and also loved watching his grandchildren in every sport and extracurricular activity in which they engaged. He was always quick with a joke and never knew a stranger. All felt loved and welcomed by Bill and his kindness. Bill was devout in his Catholic faith and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
