"Gerald William Puckett, 76, of Petersburg, passed Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Born June 7, 1947, to the late William R. Puckett and Elva Barnard Puckett. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Helen S. Puckett; stepson, Gary B. Cole; brother, Kenneth R. Puckett; sisters-in-law, Lisa Puckett and Shirley A. Puckett. Gerald is survived by his brothers, Roger A. Puckett, of Colonial Heights and Charles E. Puckett, of Chesterfield; his nephews, Butch (Debbie), Rusty (Viki), Bobby (Jenny), and Doug Puckett; and numerous other family and friends near and far. Gerald proudly served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard and Reserves from 1965 - 1971. He then embarked on a 33-year career with CSX Railroad. Gerald was also a proud lifetime member of the American Legion Post 284. The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Kathy Fite, who\u0027s support and friendship with Gerald was so special. Also with gratitude we want to acknowledge the kindness and professionalism of the caregivers of Amedisys Home Health Care. A graveside service for family and friends will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Southlawn Memorial Park."

Regina Mary Zamenick, 87, of Petersburg Virginia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024. Regina was a devout Catholic consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Purtell Vandermark. Regina is also preceded in death by her husband; Lt. Col. Stephen John Zamenick; sisters, Elizabeth Stoddard, Helen O’Shea; and brother, John Vandermark. She is survived by her daughter, Anne E. Zamenick; son, Stephen J, Zamenick, sister-in-law, Donna Vandermark; several nieces and nephews, and beloved friends Elizabeth and Vito Mirro. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 7310 Squirrel Level Rd, Dinwiddie, 23805. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 23, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Rd, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. "Gloria Marie Random, 82, passed away on February 26, 2024. She was born in Chesterfield, VA, to the late Elmer and Nellie Burnham. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of over 20 years, Richard Random; and her nine siblings, Doug, Elwood, Alma, Rosie, Lavinia, Bill, Elmer Jr., Raymond, and Charles, of which she was the youngest. She is survived by her two sons, Raymond (Annette) and Paul Irby; her grandchildren, Rachell Ingargiola (Johnny), Raymond II Irby, Michelle James, and Kimbre Snead (Scott); her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Giada, Giselle, Maxamus, Bryanna, Mason, Skylar, and A.J.; great-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Yámir; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie enjoyed traveling, heading south into Mexico with her friend Kay numerous times. She could often be found out in her yard, working hard to maintain her patch of land. When not outdoors, she could be found dancing her heart out, or relaxing with a puzzle or Bingo. She adored her grandchildren and did her best to teach them from a young age the difference between right and wrong as well as state capitals. A memorial service will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. A devoted mother, partner, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. On Monday, February 19,2024 our angel gained her wings at Bon Secours-Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden passing. She will be truly missed. Christa (“Tweety”) was born on March 26,1993 in Emporia, VA to Shirley and Christopher Williams. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was stunning. It would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was a 2011 graduate of Brunswick High School in Lawrenceville, VA. She later attended Virginia State University “HAIL STATE” and graduated in 2013 with a BA in Criminal Justice. She started her work career at GEO Correctional Center in Lawrenceville, VA as an officer and later was promoted to Sergent. After many years of employment, she worked at Central State Hospital and Poplar Springs Hospital in Petersburg, VA as a Tech. In 2024 she regained employment at Geo Correctional Center until her passing. “Tweety” loved to cook for her family. Her specialty was macaroni and cheese. She loved to travel, listen to music, hang out with family and friends and playing cards. “Tweety” was preceded in death by her sister, Jessica Williams; grandmother, Betty Easter; great grandmother, Carrie Stith and Edith Williams; great grandfather, Theordore Williams; aunts, Margaret Ampey, Anna Easter and Lisa Williams; great aunts and great uncles. “Tweety” is survived by her three beautiful children, Jakayla, Malaysia and Marquis Lewis, Jr., and their dad, Marquis; bonus children, King, Jutis and Londyn Tinsley; mother, Shirley Williams (Melvin) and Christopher Williams (Regina); Forever remembered by her partner “Bookie” Sean Tinsley; bonus mom, Eunice Parker; brothers, Christopher Easter and Cordylaro Williams; sisters, Marilyn Easter and ShaMya Eke; nieces, Bre’Onna, Alexis, Aniyah, Nevaeh, Jesse and Skylar; nephews, ZahMory and Christopher, Jr.; grandmother, Josphine Wyche, grandfather, James (Barbara) Howard; aunts, Lottie and Virginia Easter, Contina Williams and Jennifer Wyche; uncles, James Arthur and James Edward Easter, Michael Williams and James Stith Jr.,(Sarah); a godson, Iverson; a bonus sister, LaMonica Easter and two best friends, India Wynn and Shakia Williams. Thelma worked as Administrative Assistant for Queen Public Library, Queens, NY and as a receptionist for Heritage Hall, Blackstone, VA.Thelma was very loving, kind, witty, independent and very outspoken. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was full of laughter, knowledge and loved to entertain. She will be truly missed by all.Thelma leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved and devoted husband of sixty-two years William M. Tucker Sr (known to her as “Sonny”); sons William M.
