Dalton Guevara

Dalton Guevara

Age - 41

December 5, 2023

Dalton Guevara, 42, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on November 16, 2023. He was born at Ft. Belvoir in 1981. Dalton grew up in Fairfax and Centreville, Virginia. He attended Flint Hill School from 4th grade through 12th grade. Words cannot begin to describe the enormity of his personality or heart. Dalton cannot be summarized. He does not fit into the categories or stereotypes constantly pushed by high school, movies, or shows. Dalton was the nerd, the athlete, the musician, and when you were at your lowest, he was even the cheerleader. He devoured books, was a master of many languages, speaking English, Spanish, Latin, C, even PowerShell. And it is from his vast vocabulary that you can start to find those words for him; multipotentialite, polymath, son, baby brother, uncle, cousin, loyal friend, soccer player, lacrosse player, swimmer, music aficionado, and so many other identities. In high school, Dalton was known for being a kind, easy going and friendly kid. He joined student government and loved being a part of anything where he could talk and lead people. He was a born leader. He was also proud to be the mythologist who competed at local certamen tournaments with the Flint Hill Latin program, as well as competing at the national level, where he would meet lifelong friends. Dalton's love for books began the moment he could read. Books were his private treasures. He read anything and everything he could get his hands on. He loved sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, and anything in between. As a child, he would spend hours in the local library discovering new authors and genres. He often got in trouble at the dinner table for reading under the table when he was supposed to be eating. Above all, Dalton was motion. In his early 20s, he enjoyed promoting for the wildly successful and booming EDM scene in D. C. Dalton loved being a part of a movement that brought together different kinds of people to listen to DJs from all over the world spinning all kinds of music and dancing until the early hours of the next day. He never lost his passion for music, for shows, or for good sets. The music scene was in his soul. Over the years, Dalton sharpened his computer and tech skills. He had a strong work ethic and prided himself on being the best he could be at his job, always accepting any challenge. He was direct, and committed to getting the best from everyone he worked with, always going above and beyond. Dalton made his living moving technology forward, but if anyone was ever stuck, he was there to help you move forward too. He was the most loyal friend you could find. If you were lucky enough to be in his inner circle, you had a partner for life. As a brother, Dalton was always there, literally and figuratively, to pick up his big sister. He had a huge heart for his family. He did everything he could to take care of his loved ones. If his family was at peace, he was at peace. Dalton is survived by his heartbroken family, including his mother, his sister, his brother-in-law, and his niece. While he appears to be at rest, Dalton will always be in motion, moving through our hearts, our minds, and our memories. A visitation for Dalton will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, 1724 Chain Bridge Rd, Mclean, VA 22101.
