William "Bill" Blake Froehlich Jr. , 89, of Huntley, died peacefully in his home on September 7, 2023, with his family by his side. Bill was born in Chicago on March 4, 1934 to parents William and Rose (nee Bublik) Froehlich. Bill served in the army after graduating from Fishburne Military School, Virginia. Bill enjoyed all sports, in particular tennis, golf and pickleball. He was also a baseball coach, manager and vice president of Waycinden Baseball League. Bill spent nearly 40 years as an owner of a successful independent insurance agency. After his retirement, he and Bonniejean enjoyed their winters in Florida. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bonniejean (nee Roady) Froehlich, his children, Steven (Lynn) Froehlich, Dana (Daniel) Briscoe, Karyn (Joseph) Tully; Bonniejean's children, Gregory Roady and Tamara (Ramon) Marfori; his grandchildren, Steven (Tanya), Timothy (Lee), Kimberly, Kirsten, William and Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Christina, Kyle, Francesca, Mikayla and Michael; his sister, Lorraine; many loving nieces, nephews and friends; and his dog Esmeralda. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith (nee DeCelles) Froehlich. Visitation will be Saturday October 7, 2023, from 11 a. m. to time of memorial service 1 p. m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Martin Raymond Buganski, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on November 26, 2023. Born on April 15, 1955, Martin was the beloved son of Marion Mitchell and Loretta Buganski. On August 8th, 1975, he married the love of his life, Gail J. Walsh. The couple first met at Sears while working during high school. Martin's journey led him to work as a skilled tool and die maker and later as a talented tile setter. During the formative years of his children, Martin embraced the joys of family life. He played racquetball, cherished family boating outings, and made breakfasts that became treasured moments. An enthusiast for classic muscle cars, Martin found fulfillment in restoring these vehicles. His catchphrase, "I've got a deal for you," echoed his passion for sharing his interests. Known for his good sense of humor and playful spirit, Martin was a jokester who brightened the lives of those around him. His love for card games, fishing, and spending quality time with friends were testaments to his sociable nature. Martin is survived by his devoted wife, Gail, and his loving daughters, Brenda (Matt) Sullivan, Colleen (Anand) Buganski, and Kelsey Smith. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Erik (Melissa), Darren, Madelyn, Vikram, Anika, Wrigley, and Lincoln, as well as his great-grandson, Hunter. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dean and his sister, Eleanor. Delores Ann (Sticha) Janek Daughter of William and Mae (Kracmer) Sticha. Born on December 12, 1925 in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Harrison High School, Class of 1943. On August 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Francis George Janek at Sacred Heart Church in Chicago. Delores was married to Frank for 48 loving years and together had 3 daughters; Jean Cecilia, Susan Florence, and Nanci Mildred. Better known by their father, as the "Lee" sisters; "Ugly, Ghastly and Beastly," and not necessarily in that order. In high school, Delores worked in a Chocolate Factory (picture Lucille Ball eating chocolates off the conveyer belt), Delores said they were allowed to eat all the chocolates they wanted. The chocolate covered peanuts were her absolute favorite! After high school, she worked for Continental Casualty Insurance Company in Chicago, until she married and later had her first child. She and Frank began Blackhawk Machine Products, a tool and die company, back in the 1950's, later known as FDJ Corporation, in which they both retired from. Family was everything to Delores. Being with family was like a big party and she loved cooking for them. She would especially light up when you would put a grandchild or great grandchild in her arms. There was nothing better. She also had a passion for watching sports. As an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Tiger Woods, and Serena Williams, you could always count on watching sports with her at any given time. She loved her flowers, especially the pink ones, lavish desserts of all kinds, and she never missed sending birthday or holiday cards to everyone. Her favorite drink of choice was either a Brandy Alexander or Bailey's and Creme. Mrs. Virginia Ann "Ginny" McDonald, nee Nemec, age 79, of Huntley, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Northwestern Medicine in Huntley after an extended illness. She was born on February 1, 1944, in Evergreen Park, IL, to the late Albert Nemec and Marie Nemec, nee Kudia. Ginny earned a bachelor's degree in computer science at Roosevelt University in 1982. Ginny held various positions over the years, including secretary at Brown & Sharp and travel coordinator at Cosper & Cosper. She took great care in organizing social trips for Seniors. Ginny also taught arts and crafts at the Wheeling Senior Center for many years and received a special Volunteer of the Year award and ceremony, held in her honor. She was very active in her retirement community, organizing various luncheons, potlucks, summer picnics and the "New Year's Eve at Noon" annual parties. Ginny often created artful centerpieces and decorations for the events. She was an animal lover, opening her home to special cats over the years. She is preceded in death by two older sisters. Ginny found the love of her life, James A. McDonald, Jr. , at a dance, where she was a reluctant guest, brought by her sister. How fortunate that they met there and were married for 58 happy years. Along with her husband, Ginny's family includes her two children: daughter, Mellody McDonald of Kankakee; son, Jim McDonald III and wife, Angie, of Wauconda; granddaughter, English Pajakowski, and her husband, Jake, of Los Angeles; and grandson, Jacob Siegers, of Naperville. Ginny is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services will be Monday, November 20th, 2023, at St Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Rd. , Huntley, IL 60142. "Carolyn J (Ahrens) Jones, 81, of Union (formerly of Huntley) peacefully passed to eternal life on Saturday, October 7, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Carolyn was born on August 22, 1942, the daughter of Fred and Florence Ahrens. She grew up on a farm in Huntley, graduating in 1960 from Huntley High School. On February 8, 1964, Carolyn married the love of her life, Jim Jones, at Trinity Lutheran Church. They raised their four daughters, Donna, Lonna, Joann and Janis in their hometown of Huntley. Carolyn's deepest love was her family, and she made them a priority in all she did. Her greatest joy was having her family at home and sharing in their laughter. Carolyn was an avid baker and loved to sew, which continued throughout her lifetime. Every summer you'd find her making jams, canning pickles and freezing vegetables. Carolyn was committed to her church and community, teaching Sunday school and serving on the Alter Guild at Trinity Lutheran Church. She served on the Board of Education of the Huntley School District. Carolyn enjoyed her coworkers at DFC Transportation, where she worked for many years. In 1990, Carolyn and Jim moved to a small farm in Union where they continued gardening and also grew acres of hay. From her farming roots, Carolyn loved the farm life and driving the hay baler. Their grandchildren love being on the farm and baling hay with their grandparents. Grandma loved to spoil them with home baked treats. In Union, St John's Lutheran was Carolyn's church home, where she served as past president of Ladies Aid. Carolyn treasured her many dear friends at St John's Lutheran Church. Carolyn is survived by Jim, her loving husband of nearly sixty years; her daughters, Donna (Jed) Wing, Lonna (Brett) Roesslein, Joann Jones (Bob Doyle); son-in-law, Jeff (Cheryl) Halat; eight grandchildren, Lauren (Scott) Martin, Alayne Wing, Brenna Wing, Daimon Roesslein, Dillon Roesslein (Meghan Weiss), Jill (Brant) Smith, Bridget Halat (Bryce Bedeker), Mitchell Halat; four great-grandchildren, Anderson, Mila, Ingrid and Brigham; sister, Janet (Jim) Hulke; brother, LeRoy (Phyllis) Ahrens; and many nieces and nephews. Paul Jay Hudgens, age 85, of Algonquin, Illinois (formerly of Elgin, Illinois and Huntley, Illinois) passed away on October 13, 2023. He was born on October 25, 1937 in Elgin, Illinois. Paul graduated from Elgin High School in 1955, where he captained the 1955 Illinois State Championship Runner-Up Basketball Team. He received his undergraduate degree from Beloit College in 1959 and was also the captain of their basketball team. On August 23, 1958, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Sarah (nee Kirkpatrick. ) After graduation, Paul proudly served in the Navy aboard the U. S. S. Stickell. Following his service, Paul became a well-respected teacher and coach at his alma mater, Elgin High School, while also earning a Master's degree from Northern Illinois University. Following his teaching career, Paul took on a new challenge by becoming the president of Elgin Sheet Metal Co. , a business founded by his father in 1936. Alongside his brother, Jon Patrick Hudgens, they built the company into a thriving enterprise, a legacy he carried until his retirement in 2001. Paul was inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Sarah; his daughter Kelley (Mark) Hardie and his son Ken (Kristy) Hudgens. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Kaitlin (Mark) Palmer, Megan Hardie, Samantha Hardie, Kylie (Gary) Schlentz, Tyler (Sammy) Hudgens, and Joshua Hudgens. He also had the privilege of being a great-grandfather to Hadley Schlentz. He was preceded in death by his parents Ethel (Sinn) Hudgens and Paul F. Hudgens. Ronald Peter "Ron" Dahlman of Huntley Illinois, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2023 after several months of hospice care. He quietly left this earth and entered into the arms of Jesus with family by his side. Ron, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, was born in Stanchfield, MN in 1934. He followed the Lord's guidance moving to northern Illinois and began his teaching career. In the late 50's, he was led to serve Camp Hickory as a caretaker and spent seven years using his multitude of talents forwarding Christian camp ministry. He continued to follow the growth of the camp throughout these many years. He loved singing and directing a church choir and was blessed in making many lifelong friends along the way. He was always faithful to his wife, his family and his Lord. He opened his home to anyone who needed a place to stay. He is celebrated for his dedication to his family: remembered by being purposely intentional in including his four children and their spouses, his 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 19 great grandchildren in his love. His low-key passion for God influenced countless people and led many to deepen their relationship with God. Ronald is survived by his wife, Fern, brother, Willis Dahlman, sons: Darrell Dahlman (Carlene), Ken Dahlman (Lori), Karl Dahlman (Chris), daughter, Donna Biere (Jim Giese). He was preceded in death by his parents Eben and Verna Dahlman, his sisters, Dorothy Dahlman and Vergie Nelson, grandson Daniel (Ken and Lori) and daughter-in-law Connie Simpson (Karl). The family considers his life similar to a strong tree with deep roots of faith. This was demonstrated by his worship of God whom he served and dedicated his life to honor. We are so blessed to be a part of his legacy. Ron was privately laid to rest at Grant Cemetery in Ingleside Illinois on October 9th. The CELEBRATION OF LIFE service for Ronald Peter Dahlman will be held on SUNDAY, October 29, 2023.
