Gwyneth Cowart, 65, of Danielsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Griffiths and Mable Jo Aycock Griffiths. She loved to cook and most importantly, she adored her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dwayne E. Griffiths, George Griffiths, Jr. and Rose Marie Griffiths and two granddaughters, Harley and Savannah Freeman. Survivors include her children, Bridget Freeman (Chad) and Brenton Cowart; brother, Richard Griffiths; grandchildren, Taylor and Trey Freeman; great-grandchild, Kaizer Freeman; ex-husband of 42 years, Dennis Cowart and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Wood was born in Commerce to the late Fred Alton and Willie Helen Wilson Minish. She was a member of Galilee Holiness Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Kimsey Wood; and brother, Jimmy Minish. Born in Norwich, CT, on May 19, 1959, she was the daughter of Verna (Nagle) Smith and the late Martin Gutekunst. For many years, Karen worked as a warehouse picker for various companies, including Owens & Minor, Cigars International and Greif. Karen enjoyed spending time with family doing arts and crafts and playing video games. She loved to bake many different desserts to share with others and test out new recipes all the time. Her favorite past time of all was attending many bingo establishments and playing Yahtzee with her mother and brother, enjoying the games they all loved together.
