"William David Darks, 82, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, in Antioch. He was born December 22, 1940, to the late JW Darks and Lera "Shorty" Waldron. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Tommy and Bobby Darks; and his son, Curtis Marsh. He is survived by his devoted wife Shirley Darks, siblings Larry (Barbara) Darks and Michael (Donna) Darks; children Cary Darks and Jamie (Michael) Krause; bonus children, round 1, Tina (John) Lawson, Chris (Tammy) Linkous, Larry Linkous, Teresa (Don) Riley; bonus children, round 2, Scott (Sabrina) Marsh, Angie (Russell) Boothe, Bubba Marsh; the best grandchildren ever, Michael, Ryan, Diana, Joshua, Chase, Anthony, Christian, Blake, Cameron, Trey, Little Russell, Peyton, Victoria, Aubreyella and Rydar; and great-grandchildren Max, Lilly, Sophia, Sariah, and Hayden. William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered as a kind and loving soul that would give the shirt off of his back if there was anyone around him that was in need of it. He was proud of the time that he served in the military at Fort Campbell's 101st Airbourne. He eventually owned a small excavating business, known as A\u0026#43;B Excavating for over 30 years. He was very much a sports enthusiast and loved all sports from NASCAR to golf to basketball to football. His family will remember him for being a great cheerleader who would protect all of those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, October 6th from 12 pm until 2 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A chapel service will follow right after the visitation at 2 pm in the Spring Hill Chapel.
