William Howard Allen, 69 of Clarksville, TN passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 the Chapel of McReynolds Nave and Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Herndon officiating. Burial will follow at Tatum Coleman Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at 10:00 am until the time of sevice on Thursday. William was born on September 8, 1954, in Clarksville TN, son to the late Charles Woodrow Allen and Frances Coleman Allen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kimberly Allen, and their unborn child. Left to cherish William’s memory is his dear wife; Anna Perry Allen, stepson; Jeff Perry (Tiffany); grandson; Dylan Perry, brother: Charles Allen, nephews; Steve Allen and Joe Allen, niece; Ora Crider; his dear mother-in-law Jo Ann Gill and many beloved friends. He was a talented musician and was known for being able to play any instrument he picked up. He loved to get out on the lake in his boat and go fishing with family. He was a lifelong member of Baptist Missionary Memorial Church in Clarksville. Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Justice, Gary Norwood, Brandon Nicolson, Kevin Lee, and Chris Cherry. Betty Alene Devers Akin Proctor, age 89 passed away on November 30, 2023. Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Gray’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Mike Proctor and Rev. Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Ryes Chapel Cemetery. Betty was born on May 27, 1934, in Montgomery Co. , TN, the daughter of the late Vernon and Louise Herrell Devers. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p. m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and Sunday from 1 p. m. until the hour of the service at the Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Akin, and second husband, Russell Proctor; son, Allen Taylor; grandson, Christopher Newton; siblings, Raymond Devers, Allen Devers, Frank Devers, Lonnie Devers, Mac Devers, Frances Nicks, Bessie Biter, Gladys Epps, and Sue Devers; and son-in-law, Donald Duncan. Survivors include children, Mary (Mike) Newton, Judy (Greg) Ussery, Debbie Duncan, and April (Scott) Nelson; children by marriage, Angie (Todd) Lee and Gary Proctor; brother, Winston Devers; grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Clara Lee, Melanie Parker, Jasen Ussery, Warren Duncan, and Bridget Thomasson; great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Nelson, Taryn Cannon, Cheyanne Thomasson, Coty Newton, Rianna Hardy, and Jasey Ussery; great-great grandchildren, Lillee Hardy, and Athena Cannon. Donald Lavier Beck, age 92, gracefully passed away at his residence, Thursday, November 30. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 23, 1931 to Jenny Elva and Luther Lavier Beck He married Marita Rae Barringer on June 16, 1955. They were married for 66 years until Marita's passing in 2021. Together they made homes in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, California, Washington, and Tennessee. They acclimated in all their locations, but their heart remained in Michigan where they enjoyed many weeks in the summer at their cottage in Newago. Donald served in the Navy during the Korean war. After his discharge, he used the GI Bill to obtain his civil engineering degree from Michigan Technological University in the Upper Peninsula. Most of Donald's career he worked for Standard Oil of California (Chevron). Wherever he lived, Donald enjoyed service for his community beginning with Boy Scouts, Jaycees, his church, and prison ministry. After retiring in Clarksville Donald served in Rotary, Crisis Call Line, Loaves, and Fishes, election board, and on various committees at First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marita, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Beck. Donald is survived by his sister, Bonnie (Gordon) Rollenhagen of Traverse City, Michigan; daughters, Lori (Timothy) Cribbs of Clarksville, TN, Marianne Beck of Indianapolis, Indiana, Anita (James) Tilley of Brentwood, TN, and son Scott Beck of Hopkinsville, KY; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 9 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Greg Glover officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loaves and Fishes, P. O. Box 3241, Clarksville, TN 37043, or to First Presbyterian Church, 213 Main Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
