Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a three sport athlete at Pattonville High School, with a passion for football. Mark continued his education at Southwest Missouri State University. He went on to work as a mechanical engineer for Beltservice Corporation, in St. Louis, where he was employed for over 30 years. Upon retiring in 2022, Mark and his family moved to Branson, where he was able to spend time boating and fishing on Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo. He also enjoyed traveling, making many trips to visit his children and grandchildren in Virginia and Georgia. Mark met the love of his life, Morag, in 1985. Mark and Morag married in 1990 and they were both excited and ready to start a family. They had Erika in 1991, Kyle in 1994, and Jack, as a Hail Mary, in 2003. Mark was a loving and devoted husband to Morag, for 33 years. He encouraged and supported Morag and his kids to pursue every single one of their passions and never missed a sports game, cheer competition, or school function. Mark lived for wife and children, and he consistently put them before himself. As their family grew, Mark shared this same sentiment towards his son-in-law, Thomas, and daughter-n-law- Kensley. In 2023, Mark was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Caroline and Sophia. He eagerly embraced his new role of grandpa and could not have been more proud of the family he and Morag had created. Mark and his family enjoyed annual vacations to Perdido Key, Florida, game nights with friends and family, and hosting 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas parties. His children plan to carry on his signature dorky dad phrases, including "woo doggies", "hooooollly cow", "woo hoo", and "we'll be eating like damn fools. " Mark had an incredibly loyal group of friends, who have been with him since childhood. He and these friends raised their children together and had just begun to witness the third generation of friendships form. Mark was an avid outdoorsmen, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and spent his weekends with his father- in-law, Bill, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Football. Mark will always be remembered for his sense of humor and eating ice cream out of a coffee mug. Mark was preceded in death by his mother-in law, Maggie Wilson. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Patricia Lorenz, sister Kristi Anderson, and brother Jason Lorenz. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 11th, at 1 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research would be greatly appreciated by the family. Print Email Leave a Message, Share a Memory
