Wendolyn Pearl Eaton of Metuchen, NJ, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 4th , following a prolonged period with leukemia. Born in Barnstable, MA, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Fish (Harris) and Forrest Eaton (Mae). Wendy grew up in Harwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. An alumna of Northfield Mt. Hermon School, Rutgers University, and NJCU, she had an MA in Special Education and School Administration. After a fulfilling career, first as a teacher of special education, and then as an administrator, Wendy retired from her role of school principal following 30 years of service with the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey. Wendy was an advocate of voting rights and women's equality, with particular interest in the League of Women Voters and Common Cause. She was a past president of the GFWC North Plainfield Junior Woman's Club (1983-1985) and attended the 2017 Women's March on Washington. She had the good fortune to travel extensively with her loving husband and best friend, Alan Grossman. During her lifetime, she visited all 50 of the United States. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime, and she cherished the opportunities they had together. Wendy is survived by five children: Seth (Krista) Fort Dix, NJ: Aaron (Malia) New Braunfels, TX; Ethan (Sarah) Seattle, WA; Adam Metuchen, NJ; Rebecca (Jason) Metuchen, NJ; and five grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by sisters Donna, Allyson (Marc) and brothers Al (Barbara) and Ronald, as well as many extended family members and close friends. Gratitude is extended to all who are blood donors, volunteers who organize blood drives on behalf of others, and individuals registered as stem cell/bone marrow donors through Be the Match. A celebration of life will held be at a future date.

Marie Corrigan

Marie Feehan Corrigan, 89, died on Friday, December 8, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. Marie was the oldest of three children born in Elizabeth, NJ, to the late James J. Feehan and Marie Steinfels. Marie was a graduate of St. Mary's High School Class of 1952. In 1955, she graduated from St. Elizabeth's Hospital (now Trinitas) School of Nursing as a registered nurse and worked for St. Elizabeth's Hospital in public health. Marie married her husband, William, in 1960 and settled in Menlo Park Terrace, Woodbridge Township, before moving to Edison in 1977. In 1997, Marie and Bill moved to the Lake Ridge Adult Community in Toms River. Marie returned to Edison in 2020. Marie was a communicant of St. Helena's RC Church in Edison. She was a member of their Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parent Club; St. Cecelia's Golden Knights and also their PTA. When she lived in Toms River, she was a member of the Lake Ridge Choral Group. Marie's greatest joy was being a mother to her four children but she relished her role of grandmother. Marie could be counted on to care for any of her grandchildren when one took ill. She attended their baseball games, dance recitals, choral and band performances, play performances, and walked with them on Halloween. Marie was proud of her Irish heritage and the nuns of St. Cecelia's looked forward to receiving loaves of her home- baked Irish soda bread on St. Patrick's Day. Holidays will not be the same without Marie's cheesecake. Among her many interests, Marie enjoyed traveling to warm destinations and enjoyed taking in Broadway plays, Le Miserables being her favorite. Marie was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed watching college and professional football. Marie's son-in-law often remarked how sharp she remained and knew so much about the intricacies of the games she enjoyed watching. An avid reader and history buff, Marie enjoyed books recommended by her daughter and about the Civil War and World War II. Marie is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William J. Corrigan(d. 2010) and her sister, Regina A. Feehan(d. 2016). Marie is survived by her children and grandchildren, sons Bill Corrigan, wife Donna of Brick and their children Kayla and Kyle of Brick; Tom Corrigan, partner Rose Rode and his son Brendan of Neptune; Patrick J. Corrigan, wife Donna and their children, Lauren, Ryan and Joseph of Metuchen; and daughter Kathleen Corrigan Accatatta, husband Tom Accatatta of Edison and their children Michael W. Accatatta and wife Emily Mostad of Carmichael, CA, and Christopher P. and Matthew T. Accatatta of Edison; brother, James J. Feehan and wife Roberta of Elizabeth and many beloved nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 9:15am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen, followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Helena's RC Church, Edison. Entombment will be in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-7pm. Anthony C. Fanelli of Metuchen passed away unexpectedly on November19, 2023. Tony was born on February 14, 1951 in Perth Amboy and lived inMetuchen for most of his life. Tony is predeceased by his parents, Frankand Anne Fanelli and his brother Thomas. Beloved husband to Phyllis DiLorenzo Fanelli whom he married 52 yearsago on February 13, 1972. Devoted father to his daughters, Lora Galliganand Liza Bruns and his sons-in-law, Neil and John. Loving Papa T. to hisfour grandchildren, Jackie, Danny, Makenna, and JD. Caring brother to hissister Linda Wagenblast and brother-in-law, Frank. Also survived by hismother-in-law Nancy, his sister-in-law Toni, his brother-in-law Fred andmany nieces and nephews. Tony was a retired Postmaster for the Somerset Post Office. He was aparishioner at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. Tony's passions werefishing and hunting. He greatly enjoyed traveling, watching the Yankees,gardening, and going to the racetrack. Mostly, he lived for spending timewith his family, especially his four grandchildren, whether it was on anordinary day, a holiday or one of the many unforgettable vacations that heplanned. Arline Christensen, 76 , passed away on November 14, 2023 in Edison, NJ. Arline was born and raised in Brooklyn. ,NY. She moved to Edison, NJ to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and 3 of her 4 grandchildren. She was an assistant underwriter for AIG Insurance Company. Arline is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Harry and her son Scott. Arline is survived by her daughter Susan and her husband Philip, 4 grandchildren: Selene, Mark, Michaeland Matthew. Darryl Harris

After an extremely private and very lengthy battle with cancer, Darryl V Harris transitioned off of this mortal plane and began his next journey on November 9, 2023. Darryl was predeceased by his parents, William and Ruth Harris. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Olympia (Huneycutt) Harris; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Tahamont; his grandson, Darryl Craig Tahamont; his brother and sister-in-law Mark and Santa Harris; sisters Tawana Andrews and Latoya Harris; goddaughter, Jocelyn Harris; sisters-in-law; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Darryl spent most of his professional career at Glaxo-SmithKline and retired in 2006, but his true passion was close-up magic. Darryl's relationship with magic embodied the phrase, "If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life;" he practiced almost every day up until the end and found joy in teaching others. He was not only published, but gave lectures and was a staple at magical conventions. Darryl was also a proud member of Jerusalem Lodge #26. Per Darryl's personal wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service, just his presence in our hearts. Please celebrate his life how you would if he were there with you, be it a magical gathering or smoking his favorite cigar with a glass of bourbon. Jerry Young, of Metuchen, passed away on October 30, 2023, at home with his family. Jerry wasborn in Red Springs, North Carolina and lived in Metuchen for 49 years. Jerry leaves behind his wife June of 52 years. They met in Edison and married in 1971. Theymoved to Metuchen in 1974 where they started their family. Jerry loved taking care of his familyand supporting his kids at all their events and milestones. Jerry worked for 44 years as a Union electrician mainly with Halasz Electric. He led many jobsprimarily for industrial building and installations. He could always be seen driving a blue pickupand wearing a blue T-shirt bearing the company's lightning bolt logo. Jerry always found the positive and enjoyed life's pleasures, family, unseasonably warm days, acold glass of tea, and his dog Abby. He excelled at computers, raising saltwater fish, fishing, andany home DIY project imaginable. While seemingly quiet, those who were lucky to know himsaw warmth and his funny quick wit. He was incredibly loyal to his family including the otherYoung family. He was predeceased by his parents Ted Gary and Sara Ailene (Ray) Young and two brothersGary and Larry Young. Jerry leaves behind June, his son Richard and his wife Pauline, daughter Christine Helmstetterand her husband Craig and a grandson Nathan Helmstetter. Msgr Zamorski

Reverend Monsignor Robert Jude Zamorski, a retired priest of the Diocese of Metuchen and former Rector of the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2023, the Feast of St. Jude the Apostle. Born in New Brunswick, he was a graduate of St. Mary High School in South Amboy. He was a graduate of St. Mary College, Orchard Lake, Mich. , where he earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He then earned a Master of Divinity degree, all the minor orders, the sub-diaconate and the diaconate, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Seminary, Orchard Lake. Msgr. Zamorski was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1972. He served at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Parish, South River, Sacred Heart Parish in Manvlle, and on the faculty of Orchard Lake Schools in Michigan. He served as Pastor at St. Stephen Parish, Perth Amboy, and Our Lady of Peace, Fords, before becoming Rector of the Cathedral in 2009. He entered into retirement at the Maria Regina Residence for retired priests in Somerset in 2021. Monsignor served in various diocesan roles and on many committees: Episcopal Vicar, Vicar Forane, College of Consultors, Presbyteral Council, Seminary Education Board, and Commission for the Continuing Education of Priests. In 2005, Msgr. was installed a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre at St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC upon nomination by The Most Rev. Paul G. Bootkoski. Monsignor was predeceased by his parents, Walter D. and Helen E. Zamorski; his brother Walter E. Zamorski and his wife Irma; and his brother-in-law, Charles C. Tomaro, Jr. Surviving are his sisters, Rita Joan Tomaro of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ruth A. Manieri and her husband William of Summerfield, FL; his "sister of the heart," Sister Rebecca Piatek, Felician Sister of Edison; his nieces, Donna Marie Tomaro of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ruthann Gerula and her husband Paul of Myrtle Beach, SC; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Msgr. Zamorski's body will be received on Thursday, November 2, at 3:00 p. m. at The Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, 548 Main Street, Metuchen. Visitation will follow until 6:45 p. m. Very Reverend Jonathan S. Toborowsky, VG will preside at the Mass of Commemoration at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will also be on Friday morning, November 3, from 9:00 a. m. until 10:45 a. m. Rose M. Peluso (nee Tavares), 89, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Newark, NJ and lived in North Jersey until she married and settled in Edison in 1961. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Joseph A. Peluso as well her mother and three sisters Adea, Conchetta and Lucille. Rose first and foremost, cared for and loved her family. At 16, she left school and stepped in to take care of and support her mother and younger sisters after her mother was injured at work. And she continued to take care of her family throughout her life, opening her arms and home to whoever needed the help. She was a fantastic cook who made the best meatballs and gravy, stuffed mushrooms and fried fish. To Rose, you always looked hungry and she'd feed you and feed you and feed you. She was demonstrative and full of life, often breaking into song. Her favorite music was hits from the 1950s, particularly Que Sera, Sera. She loved watching her programs and going to musicals and plays. Surviving are her daughters Debhra Brandis and her husband Michael, of Bensalem, PA and Joanne Siery and her husband Robert, of Edison; four granddaughters Melissa Leonhauser and her husband Derek, Jessica Schauder and her husband Henry, Kelly-Ann Barnett and her husband Jared and Jamie Toner and her husband Matthew; nine great-grandchildren Morgan, Matthew, Ada, Ryan, John, Grace, Owen, Cole and Maxine. Edward H. Powers, 75. of Metuchen, passed peacefully at home with his loving family at his side, on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Born on June 5, 1948 was raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ and had resided in Metuchen for 34 years. Ed graduated from St. Peter's High School in Jersey City and received his bachelor's degree at St Peter's College (now University) in Jersey City, attended the graduate school at University of Virginia for their Political Philosophy program, and received his Masters of Arts in Teaching at Colgate University. At St. Peter's College, Ed played free safety and served as co-captain for the 1970 Peacocks football team. Ed was also selected as All-American National Club Football Association player in 1970 for his performance on the field in leading the nation in pass interceptions. The celebrated 1969-1970 football teams in which Ed played with a great competitive spirit were also inducted into the St. Peter's University Hall of Fame in 2018. Ed began teaching at St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen in 1982 and retired in 2021. During his 39 years at St. Joe's, Ed wore many hats - History Department Chair, Lay Teachers Association where he negotiated contracts on behalf of his colleagues, Founder and Moderator of the College Bowl and History Bowl teams which won numerous national and international championships, but his greatest legacy at St. Joe's was his passion for teaching history where he challenged every student to think critically and helped them understand their responsibilities as good citizens. Ed was also a great friend and confidant to many in the faculty. And while Ed was an intellectual and voice of reason, his primary goal as an educator was to make the world a better place. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Frances Powers, and his sister, Margaret Brady. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years, Rose M. Powers and his two beloved sons, Patrick F. and Joseph M. Powers, and his sister, Frances Green of Mount Laurel, NJ. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday October 6, 2023, at the Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave Metuchen, NJ 08840, from 4 pm to 8 pm with a memorial service at 7:30 pm.
