Funeral Service for Wayne Davis, 89 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Reverend Rick Davis, Reverend Gary Thomas, Reverend Will Harmon, and Reverend Ray Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home. Viewing will be 9:00am - 7:00pm Tuesday with the family visiting with friends 5:00pm-7:00pm. Roy Wayne Davis was born on August 29, 1933 in Moffett, Oklahoma to Bessie Mae (Floyd) and Roy Lynx Davis and passed away on April 22, 2023 in Spiro,Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Clark on April 1, 1952 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He was a longtime truck driver servicing most of his career with Consolidated Freightways, where he earned many safe driving awards and also won 1st Place in Truck Drivers Safety Competition in the state of Arkansas. He was passionate about serving God and loving his family and friends. Wayne was a member of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including working in the food bank, serving meals to the homeless, driving the Prime Timers on trips, and going on mission trips. Family gatherings, fishing and hunting with his buddies, and serving God were his favorite things in life. He will be remembered as a great man of God. Wayne is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wanda; children, Rick Davis and wife Michelle, Rhonda Thomas and husband Gary, and Russell Davis and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Ricky Wayne Davis (Mirinda), Nickie Kersh (Jason), Joshua Thomas, Nick Davis (Adrienne), April Carter (Nick), Jon Thomas (Stacey), Jordan Thomas (Jessica), and Jenn Riley (Lance); great grandchildren, Mallory Reed (Dillon), Marshall Davis (Haley), Linux Kersh, Davis Carter, Babe Carter, Sydney Davis, Greenley Carter, Marissa Davis, Everett Thomas, Axton Thomas, Wyatt Thomas, Zachary Etzkorn, and Isabelle Etzkorn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tommy Floyd Davis. Pallbearers will be Ricky Davis, Josh Thomas, Nick Davis, Jon Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Davis Carter, Marshall Davis, Linux Kersh, Jason Kersh, Nick Carter, Dillion Reed and Zachary Etzkorn.
