Wanda Sydow Obituary

Wanda Jo Sydow joined Jesus in heaven on April 20, 2023 at age 86. She was born in Breckenridge Texas on August 8, 1936. Her parents were Raymond Pendleton and Anna Bell Cockrell. She went to school at Gatesville, Texas and married the love of her life, Robert (Pete) Sydow on September 19, 1953. Wanda was a loving mother and was devoted to her family and friends. She loved cooking, playing a competitive game of dominoes or cards, collecting glassware and nick-knacks. Spending time with her family was important, especially her grandson Lee and great grandson Lucas. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and enjoyed helping with the social committee and Ruth class when she was able. In earlier years she was a member of the Garden Club and received awards for her flower arrangements. She worked at Sears for 33 years. Initially she worked in the custom drapery department and then moved to the Parts Service Center where she retired March 31, 2006. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pete Sydow; sisters Avanell Force, Loyce Speer, Oleta Herring and brother Roy Pendleton. Survivors include her daughter Diane Crelia and husband Randy Crelia, daughter Debbie Gamble, grandson Lee Crelia, and great grandson Lucas Crelia and many nephews and nieces. Wanda is smiling down from heaven with Pete and her family now. To celebrate her life services will be held at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, on Thursday April 27th at 1 p. m. at 1207 N. Old Robinson Road, Robinson Texas. Brother Cary will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening between 5 p. m. and 7 p. m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Home, 4400 W. Waco Drive, Waco Texas.
