Daughter of the late William A. and Golda (Lynch) Smith; sister of Esther Meyers and the late Emerson, Emily, David, Morris, Tim, Frances, Lyle and Melvin; also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Wanda was a U. S. Army Veteran and employed at St. Clair Hospital for many years. She had a love of life, travel, music and art. A celebration of life service will be held at Barren Run Cemetery, 569 State Route 3035, Smithton, PA 15479 on Saturday September 23 at 11:00 AM.

On Monday, November 27, 2023, Sally (Silhol) Lascheid passed away peacefully in her home, at the age of 92. Daughter of the late Ferdinand and Thelma Silhol; mother of Fred (Lynne) Lascheid, Peter (Beth) Lascheid, and Mary (Tony) George; grandmother of Amanda Lascheid, Luke Lascheid, Matthew Lascheid, Christian George and Alexis George; sister of the late Fred and William "Buzz" Silhol. Born and raised in Bridgeville, Sally lived in Mt. Lebanon for the last 62 years. She graduated high school from Mount Mercy Academy in 1949, then attended Penn State University obtaining a degree in Home Economics. Sally's family was at the very center of her life. She was a completely devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her three children and five grandchildren. Sally's Catholic faith was also very important to her and her desire to help others led her to volunteer at St. Clair Hospital for 50 years, knit scarves for the homeless, and make rosaries for family and friends. Sally loved to travel to Florida and made Jupiter, Florida her second home, where she frequently visited family and friends. As per Sally's wishes, all services will be private. On Thursday, November 23, 2023, Dennis Welsch passed away at the age of 68. Son of the late Robert F. and Bernice R. Welsch, Sr. ; beloved husband of Mary Arnold Welsch; brother of Kathleen W. (William) Houser and Robert F. (Luanne) Welsch, Jr. ; uncle of Bob Welsch, Julene Ayres, Kaitlyn Arnold, Nick Arnold, Michael Arnold, and RC Hood. Dennis was the founder and owner of Golden Triangle Glass Service. He was a loving family man and devoted husband. Dennis was also an avid hunter and self-proclaimed "Doctor of Turkology". He loved his lakehouse in Lake Erie and his many friends here and there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be announced at a later time. Age 87, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA passed away softly and peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Devoted husband of Eileen (Manning); proud father of Edward (Felyn), Heinz (Ashley), Elizabeth (Braden) Wheeler, Seamus, Peter, and the late Linda Joan Schaldenbrand; 'Honored Pop' of Miles Lawrence and Archer Nash; brother of Alice, Edward, Michael and Maureen; also survived many nieces, nephews and extended family. Chas was a life-long entrepreneur, owning several businesses from Stetson Shoes to Heinz Healey's gentleman's apparel. He supported the arts in Pittsburgh through the Station Square Amphitheater and Play House, and was a dedicated servant to his church and community. Age 80, of Castle Shannon, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Paul was the beloved husband of 33 years to Lynne A. (Brandt); loving father of Paul Scott Turnquist, Marc James (Karen) Turnquist and the late infant Chad Turnquist; proud Grampa of Celia, Lilly, Colin and Sean; son o f the late Aldur and Lillian (Warner) Turnquist; brother of the late Nancy Ritter; brother-in-law of Harry (Carol) Brandt and Cheryl (John) Poljak; beloved uncle of Cathy Fleming and Cindy (Kevin) Snider. He is also survived by many more treasured nieces and nephews, as well as cousins, friends and neighbors. Paul will also be missed by Chris Burkhart and family. Paul was born and raised in Chicago and came to Pittsburgh in the early 1970's as a member of the U. S. Steel Engineering Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, golf and garden. As a long-time member of the Bethel Park Outdoorsman Association, he served for many years as President, Trustee, Financial Secretary and newsletter editor. Follow a lung transplant in 2009, Paul became an active member of Team Alleghenies Transplant, a volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives by increasing organ, tissue and cornea donation awareness. Paul proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and the Army Reserves during the Viet Nam War. The Turnquist family would like to thank the staff at DCI Dialysis - Banksville, the UPMC Cardiothoracic Transplant Team, and PCP Kaushik Patel for their compassion, support and dedication to giving Paul the very best care throughout his long health journey. Age 62, of Mt. Lebanon, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday evening, November 16, 2023. Beloved husband of Heidi (Hallett) White; devoted father of Brendan, Colin, Eliza and the late Seamus White; cherished brother of Timothy J. (Maureen) White and Mary Ann (Richard) Goode; also survived by many nieces, nephews and a long list of very close friends. Jim prided himself on his love of his family, his friends and working hard. He was married to his best friend, Heidi, for 30 years which kept him anchored in love. Jim was a selfless father who showed his love for his kids in a thousand different ways whether it was driving to lacrosse games up and down the East coast, being there for every photo shoot before school dances, renting a house each summer in his favorite place Stone Harbor so his family could relax and enjoy their time together. He loved his nephews and nieces and delighted in sharing his wide variety of musical tastes ranging from Irish folk, classical jazz to Lizzo, Taylor Swift, and Snoop Dog to name a few. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and had an unparalleled work ethic. His reputation in the Pittsburgh real estate appraisal community was second to none. There were so many that Jim quietly helped in big and small ways. Most of us will cherish our memories and stories of Jim's irreverent, dark, Irish humor. Age 87 of Whitehall. On Tuesday, November 14, 2023 was peacefully called to her Heavenly home. Beloved wife for 57 years of the late Donald F. Steigerwald; devoted mother of Stacy L. (Kevin) Maehling and the late Scott Steigerwald; loving grandmother of Kiera H. Maehling; sister of Arden Bicker, Alvin (Judy) Bicker, David Bicker and her twin sister, the late Jean (Charles) Hieber. Joan was born in Odell, Nebraska on August 24, 1936. She had retired from Mellon Bank. Joan enjoyed making floral arrangements and gardening. Her real joy was her family and her faith. Dear mother of Sally (Bill) Rath of Phoenix, AZ and Terry Brennan of Overland Park, KS; loving grandmother of Emily and Carolyn; beloved sister of Patricia Schneider of Pittsburgh, Madeline McMurray of Greer, SC, and the late Kathleen. Sally was a native of the Pittsburgh area with many years spent in New York City and Phoenix. Sally spent most of her career working as a 4th grade teacher in Catholic grammar schools and later as an administrator in the banking field. She returned to the Pittsburgh area for her retirement years to be closer to her family. Sally had a deep Catholic faith, along with a kind heart towards others and a positive outlook on life.
