Walter "Joe" Hawkins was born October 21, 1936 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Walter M. and Etta (nee Vann) Hawkins and passed away February 12, 2019 at the age of 82. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Joyce (nee Buck) Hawkins, his son, Mark Hawkins and his siblings, Marie Laxton, Lena Mae Russell, Mary Stinnett, Trula Housley, Martha Ellen Gregory and Norris Hawkins. Joe is survived by his children, Paula Stephens, Paul Carnahan, Jamie Hawkins, Christopher Hawkins; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Jean Thaler, Paul David Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews. Joe was a resident of Georgetown, Ohio and was retired from Union Local #2 as a union carpenter. Visitation 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at E.C.Nurre Funeral Home, 315 W. Plane St., Bethel, Ohio. Burial Vesper Cemetery, Neville, Ohio.
