Dale Flukinger

Dale Flukinger

Age - 76

July 19, 2023

Waller County lost Dale Flukinger, a well-known, much-beloved native son on Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2023. Dale was 76 years old and was a lifelong resident of Waller County. He suffered from pancreatic cancer and left this world surrounded by those who loved him most, at home, on the land he had worked his entire life to manage and protect. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, from 5-7 p. m. at Canon Funeral Home in Waller. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a. m. at Canon with the burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Dale farmed with his father and brothers before and after his graduation from Waller High School. He attended Blinn College and through friends met Mary McMaster, who he courted, pursued, and wed in 1971. Dale continued to farm and built several businesses during his life including D&M Farms, D&J Services, and Waller County Septic, while raising a family that included daughters Kathryn Elisabeth and Sarah Dale. Dale's daughters married and made their lives alongside him on the land he loved. He volunteered in too many organizations and events to name, with notable contributions being his longtime service as an officer on the Shiloh Cemetery Board and his ever-present service working for the Saint Bartholomew Episcopal Church Turkey Dinner when it was still in existence. Dale lost his beloved wife, Mary, in 2018 after a brave fight with lung cancer, an event that changed him and the way he looked at the world. In the last 2. 5 years of his life, he was lucky enough to meet someone lost to his past in Wanda Harris Liberty. They developed a close relationship, with her staying by his side through his final days. Dale is preceded in death by his mother Mary Borman, father Charlie Flukinger Jr. , brother Larry Flukinger, and wife Mary Amanda McMaster. He is survived by brother Mark Flukinger with his wife Susan Brejcha and family, sister Cindy Flukinger with her husband Roland Stasny and family, daughter Kathy Flukinger with her husband Lee French, daughter Sarah Flukinger with her husband Chad Hillman, grandchildren Aubrey Dale French, Isabella Louise Hillman, and Jackson Charles Hillman, close friend and business partner Socorro Rodriguez, close friend Wanda Harris, and more friends and neighbors than can be listed here. Dale was strong. He was defiant. He was loving. And he was fair. There will never be another one like him. Jack Dennison

Jack Dennison

Age - 88

June 21, 2023

Jack Arnold Dennison was born on April 20, 1935, in Nome, Texas. He was the ninth and youngest child of Andrew Dennison and Maggie Hornberger Dennison. The Dennisons moved to Waller and Jack attended Waller High School where he met the love of his life Virginia Mason. The sweethearts married in 1955 and soon started a family. A few years later Jack and Virginia moved to College Station so Jack could attend his beloved Texas A & M University. Jack received a degree in electrical engineering in 1965, moved back to Waller, and joined Texaco where he worked for over 35 years. Jack and Virginia were an integral part of the Waller community. Jack's life centered on God and family, and he was very active at Waller Baptist Church. Jack served as a deacon there alongside some of his best friends and was still serving until just a few months ago. Jack loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his hobbies. One of his favorite places to visit was Estes Park, Colorado where he hunted elk and camped. Jack and Virginia would make the trip pulling a fifth wheel trailer because Virginia didn't care much for flying. Of course, Jack had flown all over the world but would do anything for his love Virginia. Jack was a caring person and a trusted friend to many in Waller. He could fix just about anything and was always available to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a doer and a problem solver but most of all he was a lover of Jesus. He told anyone who would listen about the beautiful love of our Lord and Savior, wanting everyone he met to experience God's grace. Jack wasn't perfect, as none of us are, but he did his best and Jesus was always top of mind and he made his family proud. He is preceded in death by Virginia, his daughter Lisa, and survived by his sons Brian and Michael, their spouses Karen and Kimmi, as well as grandchildren Josh, Joel, Bethany, Austi, Logan, Tori, and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, June 26, 2023, from 5-7pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 10am at Waller Baptist Church with Pastor Blake Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Fieldstore Cemetery. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Jack Arnold Dennison, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store. Memorial DonationShow more
