Rev. Vivian Lee Woods died peacefully at her home on September 7, 2023 at the age of 70 and is now face to face with her Savior Jesus Christ. Vivian was born on May 22, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Wilson and Dolores (McCollum) Ingrum. After completing high school at C. E. King in Sheldon, she went to Abilene for college, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Religious Studies from McMurry University. She later completed her Master of Arts in Chaplaincy at Liberty University in 2018. She married Philip Woods on April 2, 1977. They moved to Corpus Christi in 1979 and have been active in the community ever since. Vivian was extremely passionate about children's ministry in the United Methodist Church and served as a volunteer for years at First United Methodist Church of Corpus Christi. She assisted with numerous vacation bible schools, organized children camps, and countless children programs. She also led a physical fitness class for seniors at FUMC for many years. Committed to supporting children's ministry, she also served as a volunteer of the United Methodist Committee on Relief supporting children during disaster relief. If the church was open, she was probably there. And if it wasn't open, she had a key. Called to the vocational ministry, she served as the Director of Children's Ministries at numerous churches, including St. John's UMC (Corpus Christi), First UMC Austin, First UMC Beeville, and Wesley UMC (Harlingen). Her ordination as a deacon in the UMC occurred in 2007. In her later years, she served as a chaplain. She served at Driscoll Children's Hospital, Baptist Hospitals of San Antonio, and for the Corpus Christi Police Department. She was fully devoted to her ministry, whether it called for spending the night sitting with a grieving mother, praying with a patient who received a diagnosis, or calming down an irate family member. Quick with a laugh, she held a contagious positive attitude despite the difficulties of working in a hospital environment. Vivian is survived by her mother, Dolores Ingrum of Corpus Christi; husband, Philip; sons Wilson (Alicia) of Fort Worth and Clinton (Catherine) of San Diego, Ca; and six grandchildren, Emerson Powell, Cullen Powell, Charlotte Woods, Jonas Woods, Parker Woods, and Maris Cate Woods. She is preceded in death by her father, Wilson Ingrum. A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 p. m. on Tuesday, September 12th, in the sanctuary of FUMC Corpus Christi. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the United Methodist Committee on Relief. To to the family, please

Urquhart Arthur Wavell II unexpectedly passed away on November 22, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born in Corpus Christi on December 10, 1958, Arthur was the youngest of six children to Cecile Cage Wavell and Kenneth Edward Wavell. Arthur graduated from Ray High School, Corpus Christi, in 1978 and received his Bachelor of Arts from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, in 1987. While attending Schreiner, Arthur met Michelle Morav, his wife and best friend of twenty-four years. As a child, Arthur spent many summers swimming in the Guadalupe River and horseback riding in Kerrville, where his family had a summer home. Kerrville has always remained a special place for Arthur and Michelle. In 1991, Arthur's entrepreneurial ambitions began with A Wavell Flagpole LLC, a successful local business. Arthur and his company installed, serviced, and repaired commercial and residential flagpoles while maintaining a retail store in his beloved local community for thirty-two years. When Arthur's father, Ken Wavell, retired from the hardware business, they enjoyed many years working together. Arthur dearly loved his job and greatly valued his many loyal customers.
