Charles "Tom" Thomas Clise Jr., 78, formerly of Frostburg, died Monday, February 26, 2024 at WVU Medicine Berkley Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV. Born on September 7, 1945 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late Charles Thomas Clise, Sr. and Ruth Beckley (Doub) Clise.Tom was a 1963 graduate of Valley High School, where he played in the band. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves-372nd MP Unit based in Lonaconing. After graduation he went on to machinist school in Pittsburgh. Following machinist school, he purchased the Clise Septic Tank Company, Inc. where he handled the pumping and installation of septic tanks. He later moved onto manufacturing septic tanks with his company, the Tri-State Concrete Company. And then in 1974 he developed Clise Coal Company, Inc., which he ran for nearly 40 years before retiring.He started drag racing in the 1960’s, later moving onto stock cars. He became one of the top drivers in the area, racing on both dirt and asphalt. At various times he held the title of track champion at Bedford Speedway, Ebensburg Speedway and twice at Cumberland Speedway. His most prestigious win came in 1989 when he won the Winchester 200. In 1990 he started T C Race Cars and his son Chuck now runs the company.He is survived by his children, Charles Thomas Clise III (Mandi) and Carrie Ann Sheinfeld (Brian); six grand-children, Morgan Blank, Charles Thomas Clise IV, Elizabeth Clise, Devon Blank, Rachel Sheinfeld and Julia Sheinfeld and his sister, Virginia Clise.Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1-3 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Chris Skidmore officiating.

Bonnie Jyll (K. Beard) Linton, 49, of Martinsburg, WV gained her angel wings on February 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. She was born February 9, 1975 in Martinsburg, WV and is the daughter of B. Carolyn Kibler Costello and the late William H. Kibler, III. She is survived by her high school sweetheart, Bruce A. Linton, Jr., and their two children, Lacy Linton Livengood (Jeremiah) and Colby Linton. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in August 2023. Bonnie is also survived by B. Carolyn Costello, her sister, Billie Jo Ryman (Jeff), mother-in-law, Nancy Linton, brother-in-law, Chad Linton (Kerri), sisters-in-law, Crystal Thompson (Chris) and Barbie Elliott (Tim), Uncle Carl Kief, Aunt Sandra Sims (Terry), Unlce Garry Kibler (Debbie), Aunt Lynne Kibler, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1993, she graduated from Hedgesville High School and James Rumsey Technical Institute. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Potomac State College in 1996 and began working in May, of that year, at Family Farm and Fleet store. When it changed to Tractor Supply Store, she worked for them until health conditions worsened, causing her to retire in May 2023. Tractor Supply employees and many customers became her extended family. Bonnie was an active member of New Seekers 4-H Club and Hedgesville FFA Chapter participating annually at the Berkeley County Youth Fair. She was lucky enough to have a grand champion hog one year and enjoyed exhibiting and showing her steers, dairy cows, and sheep. She loved farming and enjoyed drawing special pictures. She was preceded in death by her stepfathers, S.C. Beard, III, Douglas W. Elliott, Sr., Charles W. Costello and her father-in-law, Bruce A. Linton, Sr., and Uncles Douglas Kibler and Jerry Kief. Her favorite saying which she shared with many was “Love you to the moon and back”! Family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home. Memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home with Joseph Gruber officiating. Interment will be private at the Linton Family Farm. Bonnie has always said “I want my flowers while I can smell them”, therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Lakes Foundation, PO Box 1075, Ripley, WV 25271, Camp Frame 4-H Association, Inc., 1362 Camp Frame Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427, or to Berkeley County Humane Society, 554 Charles Town Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25405.

Joe Jones, 56, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Northern VA and Rockledge, FL, went to be with The Lord on February 11, 2024. Born on December 20, 1967 in Arlington County, VA, he was the son of Linda Lou (Cole) Eppard of Martinsburg and Douglas James Jones Sr (Becky Jones) of Frostburg, MD. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his long time fiance, Debra Reid; 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Douglas Jones Jr (Joyce Hallinan-Jones) of Rockville, MD, John Eppard (Tina Gray Eppard) of Edgewater, FL, Thomas Jones (Chrissie Heffley-Jones) of Rockville, MD, Susan Jones of Frostburg, MD, and Sarah Jones (Robert Burkett) of Cresaptown, MD; a son, Justin Barden (Caitlyn) of Leesburg, VA; granddaughter: Makayla Thornton; five nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. Joe grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia and attended Falls Church High School. He enjoyed taking his beloved dachshund Joe-Joe for nightly rides to look for deer. During his life, Joe worked various jobs, such as blacktop paving, landscaping, providing tree services, and roofing. He had a very generous heart and often gave cash to the homeless. It has been said, that he would give you the shirt off his back. There will be no funeral service. All other arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that you help any of those less fortunate that you encounter, in memory of Joe.

Frank Norman Rodgers, age 85, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Martinsburg Healthcare Center. Mr. Rodgers was born on April 24, 1938 in Petersburg, WV, the son of the late George and Wilma (Mongold) Rodgers. On October 14, 1969 Frank married Ruth (Henry) Rodgers who survives in Martinsburg. Mr. Rodgers was a graduate of Petersburg High School and attended Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Upon graduation, Frank served our country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Potomac Edison until his retirement and then continued to work for Cookman’s Insurance. He stayed very active in his community where he taught first aid for many years and served as a volunteer fireman for the Petersburg and Maysville Volunteer Fire Departments. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post #78 in Petersburg, the Masonic Lodge #145 in Petersburg, Shriner, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Frank is survived by: 2 sons, Craig Rodgers of Dickerson, MD; Sherwin “Buggsy” Rodgers (Lori) of Troutville, VA; 3 step-daughters, Stephanie Waldman (Joe) of Petersburg, WV; Pamela McVey of Las Vegas, NV; Leisha Rutkowski (Tom) of Wyoming, DE; 2 sisters, Sharon Ann Sites of Winchester, VA; Myra Yokum of Landes, WV; 10 Grandchildren; and 7 Great-grandchildren.
