A lifelong Elvis fan, Kendell’s love for his music was only surpassed by her love for her family. Kendell was beloved by her family and her quick wit, movie quoting, and willingness to dance at all times are only a few of her best traits that will be missed. Her greatest achievement was being the world’s best Mama to her only daughter, Rebekah, the best friend of her son-in-law, Adam, a loving and caring sister to her brother, Andy, and a lifelong friend and companion to her ex-husband, Barrett. A proud Privateer, Kendell graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1988 with a BA in Education. Twice National Board Certified, Kendell taught in the Jefferson Parish Public School system for nearly 25 years, most recently at Gretna No. 2 Academy. A devout Christian, Kendell shared her love of God with others and left an indelible mark on the lives of many. As a former resident of New Orleans for many years, her family dubbed her the "Mardi Gras Queen," for her love of the parades and her hospitality, living so close to the route. Kendell was a classic movie aficionado, a lover of Walt Disney World and all things Disney, as well as escaping into a good book. Words cannot express the hole she has left in the lives of those who loved her.
