Vitina Costa Obituary

VITINA "VERA" COSTA, 81, of Jackson Twp. , NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and resided in Georgia, prior to settling in Jackson Twp. , 16 years ago. Vera was employed as a payroll secretary for the Brooklyn Board of Education for 20 years, prior to her retirement in 1996. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp. Vera loved to read and play Mahjong. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Vitina Benenati; her brother, Joseph Benenati; her sisters, Sara Gagliardotto and Anna Perone; and by her husband, Victor in 2009. Vera is survived by her sons, Frank Costa and his wife, Lynn, and Joseph Costa and his wife, Paige; her daughter, Nancy Rotondi and her husband, Paul; her grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Gabrielle, Julia, Matthew, Jason, Elisabeth and Isabella; and by her sisters, Sadie Modica and Mariann Beninati. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd. , Jackson Twp. , NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9 AM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd. , Jackson Twp. , NJ. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, 549 Rt. 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vera's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Two Princess Rd. , Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648, and would be greatly appreciated.
