FLEEGLE - Virginia L. "Ginny", 66, of Boswell, died October 5, 2023 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born October 12, 1956 in Johnstown. The daughter of George Fleegle and Mae (Baughman) Koontz-Fleegle. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Richard and Jerry Koontz and sister Delrita Nymick. Survived by daughter, Brandi (Fleegle) married to Mike Craycraft; grandson, Austin Craycraft; lifelong partner, John Sheffler; nieces, Wendy (Koontz) married to Kenton Kooser and Nicole married to Andrew Cesario; nephew, Deron Koontz and wife Penny and sister-in-law Sue Koontz. Ginny was a 1974 graduate of North Star High School. She was employed by Boswell Prescription Center for over 40 years. She loved spending time with the crew at camp but especially treasured time with her grandson, Austin. Ginny also enjoyed cooking and reading. GINDLESPERGER - Franklin P. "Frank", 79, Windber, died November 12, 2023 at Windber Medical Center. Born January 8, 1944 in Johnstown. Son of H. Merle and Virginia P. (Blough) Gindlesperger. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Audrey Yoder and brothers-in-law Robert Thomas and Carlton Yoder. Survived by wife, Louise C. (Evanchock) Gindlesperger; son, Todd (Heather) Gindlesperger; daughters, Tracy (Rob) Euen and Katrina (Jeff) Dombrosky; grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley Euen, Hadley (Dan) Bedington and Tori and Grant Dombrosky; stepchildren, Kim (Bret) Shaffer, Michael (Joanne) Csordas and Tina Burkett; step-grandchildren, Allison, Jared, Laiken, Alexis, Mark, Jr. (Lea), Bryce and Mason; step-great-grandson, Maverick; brother of Donna Thomas, Dwight "Whitey" (Linda) Gindlesperger, Darwin (Donna) Gindlesperger and Dwynell (Allen "Butch") Boyer and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was 1962 a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. He had a long career as a truck driver. Some of his favorite things to do were having breakfast with friends and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. He also treasured his time hunting with his longtime friend Dave Wingard. A memorial service will be held 11AM Friday, November 17 at Stahl Mennonite Church, 1201 Soap Hollow Road, Johnstown with Pastor Keith Yoder presiding. REFFNER - Dorothy M. (Stoppe) Scrimager, 82, Jenners, passed away October 31, 2023 at her home. Born July 22, 1941 in Gray. Daughter of George, Sr. and Gladys S. (Mullen) Stoppe. Preceded in death by parents; husband, James J. "Porter" Reffner, on July 8, 2010 and brother, Walter "Bim" Stoppe. Survived by children, Gregory Scrimager married to Judith (Dedik), Debra (Scrimager) married to Dr. David Battista, Melissa (Scrimager) Sheeler and Kimberly (Reffner) Kriak; loving grandchildren, Kristi Jo married to Chad Lisbon, Gregory Scrimager and wife Meaghan, Jacob Scrimager and fiance Megan, Chelsea Pluta, Chloe Battista, Cody Shaw and wife Michelle, Hunter Shaw, Parker Shaw and Levi Sheeler and companion Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Connor Lisbon, Maisie, August and Violet Scrimager and Harrison Shaw; brothers, George Stoppe, Jr. and wife Nancy (Evans); Robert Stoppe and wife Patricia (Stout), William "Gabo" Stoppe and wife Joann (Rose) and Richard Stoppe and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy was a 1959 graduate of J. B. J. Joint High School and a veteran of the U. S. Women's Army Corps. She was employed by Bell Telephone and then went on to have a successful career in the restaurant industry as a cook. She worked primarily for Hoss's Restaurants helping establish and open many of their restaurants throughout Pennsylvania and Virginia. A member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Knotty Ladies. Dorothy enjoyed watching old westerns and reading and would often share her books with others. She had a great passion for cooking and would always make sure her family was well fed. She had a great love of dachshunds. Her dog Lucy was with her until the end. The family would like to thank UPMC Somerset Hospice and Home Health for all the care they gave to Dorothy.
