Sister Margaret Leonard Perreira, C. S. J. age 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles, California. She was born November 4, 1938 in Ewa, Oahu Hawaii, the second of third children, and was a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since March 19, 1959. She completed her formation in Los Angeles but belonged to the Hawaiian Vice-province. Her ministry in Hawaii, as teacher and administrator was insightful and effective. Her ministry also included CSJ community service as vice-province treasurer for 10 years, and as a member of the vice-province leadership team. She is survived by her sister-in-law Celia Perreira, nieces Linda Webb and Benadette Bellah, nephew Garrett Perreira and many cousins. Her cremains will go to Hawaii where all her services will occur. Hawaii services will be coordinated by Sr. Brenda and her many CSJ friends in Hawaii. Donations in memory of Sister Margaret Leonard Perreira may be sent to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, 11999 Chalon Road, Los Angeles, CA 90049.Show more
