Vincent A. Arezzo, Sr. of Duluth passed away on September 1, 2023. He was born on August 20, 1923 to William and Frances Arezzo. He was united in marriage to Julia Glowacki on June 28, 1952. Vince was a WWII Veteran and retired from US Steel Company in 1979. He also worked part time at Heritage Apartments for 15 years. Vince was very active in his community and church. He was always willing to help family and friends with special projects and anything they needed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia, and 2 brothers and 1 sister. Vince's memory will live on through his loving family. Children: Connie (Ken) Barlau, Vince (Sue) Arezzo, Karen (Scott) Spearin and Todd (Joanie) Arezzo. Vince is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation: Viewing will be on Monday, September 11th at the Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Avenue from 3-6PM. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 12th at St. Elizabeth Church, 610 - 99th Avenue West at 11AM. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Barbara passed away at Essentia Health Care, in Duluth, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the age of 83. Barb was born on November 1st, 1940, to Sig and Halga Lescenski, in Duluth. She grew up in the Piedmont neighborhood, graduating from Denfeld High School in 1959. A lifelong resident of Duluth, Barb worked for the Northwestern Bell phone company for 30 years, starting out as an operator and retiring as an engineering clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; and infant granddaughter, Hannah Ferguson. She will be greatly missed by her three sons: Scott (Julie) Ferguson, Daniel (Cecelia) Ferguson, and Michael (Lori) Maisuk; grandchildren: Stephanie and Gabrielle Ferguson, Joshua, Adella, and Ryan Maisuk; brothers: Bill (Marlene) Lou, Jim (Barb) Lescenski; sister, Gloria (John) Stueve; many nieces; nephews; and friends. Anyone who knew Barb knew she had a great passion for collecting dolls, especially Barbies, and toys. She loved to garden and read. She lived in her home for 55 years and was always proud to show guests her collections. Barb's biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her grand fur babies. Many thanks and prayers to the Essentia Health staff and Hospice unit for their care and compassion that Barb received during her short stay. Service will be held at 11 a. m. with a visitation one hour prior on Friday, December 15th at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, in Duluth, MN. On November 29, 2023, Frank Haupert, 91, passed away peacefully in the company of his family. Frank was born on September 17, 1932, to Lawrence and Hedwig Haupert in Pipestone, MN where he lived and worked on the family farm. Like several of his siblings, Frank proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he drew on his talent of "tinkering" and became an auto mechanic, which was his vocation for over 40 years, retiring from Downtown Pontiac in 1992 after more than 30 years of service there. Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Mitchell) Haupert. Together, they raised 5 children in Brooklyn Center, MN. After retiring, Marilyn and Frank made a permanent residence on their property in Big Lake, MN after many years of enjoying the "cabin" with family for vacations and get-togethers. As retirees, they headed south, wintering in Pharr, TX for over 20 years. Frank was also a member of the Crystal VFW POST 494 and the Big Lake American Legion. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with family at the lake. Those who knew him best, know that Frank's "tinkering" ways did not end with his retirement. He did not believe in throwing anything away, as everything could be fixed, or repurposed into something completely different. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Arthur and Lillian; brothers, Louie, Joe, Harold and Larry (Barb); sister, Rita Mae (Vernon) Dickey; brother-in-law, Hank Schneller. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Marilyn; children, Jerry (Kay), Randy (Donna), Lenny (Christi), Dennis (Danielle), and Theresa (Chad) Gillispie; 11 Grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Karen) and Ron (Jan); sisters, Geraldine (Daryl) Voss, Pat Schneller, Shirley (Jerry) Barthel; sisters-in-law, Gwen and Marian Haupert. Friends and family are invited to call from 10 -11 AM on Wednesday, December 27th at the Cremation Society of . A memorial service celebrating his life will immediately follow. Gerald "Jerry" Lee Baxter, 88, passed away in peace on November 30, 2023. He was born and raised in Galva, IA and married 62 years to his loving wife Carol "Lynn". Jerry was educated in electrical engineering at Iowa State University and earned a masters degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota. He had a long and successful career in computer technology starting with Univac and then moving to Control Data Corporation in its infancy and retiring after 35 years. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, downhill skiing, collecting antiques, refurbishing furniture, traveling, reading, and volunteering. Both Jerry and Lynn were active members at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church since 1964 and volunteered to assist others through Meals on Wheels. Jerry is survived by his wife Lynn, their sons: Dan (Sarah) Baxter, David (Kendra) Baxter, Greg (Jennie) Baxter, nine grandchildren: Adam (Jill) Baxter, Claire (Micah) Brady, Sadie Baxter, Henry Baxter, Anders Baxter, Matthew Baxter, Megan Baxter, Anna Baxter, Elise Baxter, and sisters: Sandra (Michael) Johnston, Darlene (Gene) McCarthy. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett Lee Baxter and Lily Alvera Baxter. Services will be held Saturday, December 16th at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 2300 Hamline Avenue N. , Roseville, MN 55113. with visitation at 10:00AM, church services at 11:00AM, and a lunch to follow.
