Victoria Tillie Ebert passed from this world October 1st in the loving arms of her daughters as they held her close, kissed, loved and prayed with her as she took her final breath. In her daughter's eyes, although she suffered chronic illness, she was still taken too soon. She was born in San Luis Obispo, California October 20th, 1944 to Stanley and Cecilia Babiarz. Sadly, at the tender age of six with two younger sisters, she lost her own mother and this changed the trajectory of her life. At the age of 16, she married David Ebert and subsequently gave birth to three children before the age of 19. She had her fourth child 10 years later. She dabbled in many activities such as arts and crafts, horseback riding, sailing, tennis, and even obtained her nursing degree and pilots license. However, they did not hold her interest for too long until moving on to the next adventure. She left Atlanta, Georgia and spent several years in Stanley, Idaho where she enjoyed the life of a mountain woman getting entangled in shenanigans not to be mentioned here. She spent the last 12 years living in the Wood River Valley and loved calling this her forever home. She was employed in many different venues from politics to community events, property management and caregiving. She was beautiful, vivacious, intelligent, extravagant, electric, eccentric and fun. She was an avid reader and could discuss any topic with anyone. . . . . . and was always right of course! She was quite humorous and always had her family laughing at her opinions and testaments. Until her health declined she loved socializing with her family, friends and Senior Connection members. She loved her children, friends, though was deeply in love and devoted to her dog Keisha and her grandson Andrew Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie, her son David Jr. her son in law Andy Garratt and several wonderful friends. She is forever missed and survived by her daughter Debbie Garratt , Tricia Levesques Garcia (Carlos) Son Christopher Ebert (Lana), grandchildren Andrew Garratt Jr. , Nicholas Robertson (Kara), Andrew Ebert (Calvin), Alison Ebert, Anna Grace Ebert (Cameron) Madison Kate Ebert, great grandchildren Carter and Rory, sister Patti Moore, many other nieces and nephews and her caregiver Brenda. We will celebrate her life at a later date. Our deepest love and gratitude to all who loved our precious mother.

David Brown

November 23, 2023

David Edward Brown, a man of boundless talents and an indomitable spirit, was born on Nov. 27, 1950, in Hungry Hill, Springfield, Massachusetts, to proud parents Scotty and Liz Brown. He was known for his quiet irreverence and dry wit, a true raconteur who wielded words to inspire and immortalize his stories. Hungry Hill, the "Home of the Irish," held a special place in David's heart as the haven for Irish immigrants, including his grandparents. David cherished his Irish heritage, growing up as the eldest of four sisters in a close-knit family and community. He reveled in playing sports at Van Horn Park, attended Our Lady of Hope Elementary, and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1968. He earned a degree in English literature from Stonehill College. Following his graduation, David's adventurous spirit led him to explore new horizons. His journey took him west, where he began skiing and mucking around in the outdoors. It was in Breckenridge, Colorado, that he formed a lasting friendship with John and Jean Kearney. After a few years in the front range, he moved to Ketchum. Here, he immersed himself in the local community. A bit of a masochist, he ran competitive marathons and long-distance races, sometimes under intriguing pseudonyms like Radix Malorum and Frank. In the 1980s, long before ultramarathons gained popularity, he ran rim to rim in the Grand Canyon. David's path intertwined with Nancy's in 1975 in Colorado, leading to their marriage in 1985. Their life took them back to Boston, where David earned his Juris Doctorate from Boston College. After welcoming their son Finn, the family relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where David practiced labor law. The family continued to grow with the additions of Connor and Nellie. With a touch of Irish luck, David and his family made their way back to Ketchum in 1993, where he joined Storey Construction. David was a spirited, loyal and hardworking father and husband, a gifted athlete, a wordsmith, a mischievous rogue and a Rusty Blade. His life encompassed soccer, hippie culture, law, woodworking, marathon running, train hopping, writing, coaching, birdwatching, hockey, serving as an altar boy, skiing and an unwavering loyalty to Boston sports. David had a brilliant sense of humor, and was never one to resist a hearty laugh at a well-timed joke. Throughout his seven-year battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy, David's determination was unwavering. He faced bodily challenges, and he did so with grace and gratitude. On Oct. 7, David passed away, surrounded by his loving family. Memories of David Edward Gerrard Brown will forever enrich our lives. He is survived by his sisters, Patrice, Peggy and Mary. His legacy lives on through his children, Finian, Connor and Nelligan. Nancy Parsons-Brown, his life partner and wife, will forever cherish and miss him. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Julie Lyons, the staff of St. Luke's, Dr. John Steffens, Erik Griffith and the hospice staff. Special gratitude is reserved for Karina Espinoza, an extraordinary caregiver. They also express deep gratitude to the friends in their community who visited David in his last years. A celebration of David's life will take place in 2024. Those who wish to honor his memory may consider donating to the Campion Ice House of Hailey, Idaho.Show more

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Connor Scott Morris, a beloved son, husband, brother and friend left us. After fighting a long hard battle he is finally at peace. While Connor has left us far too young, we know that he is watching over all of us. Connor was born on September 14, 1997 at the St. Moritz Hospital in Sun Valley, Idaho to Lois and Dave Morris. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, sister, father and mother. Connor graduated from Wood River High School in 2016 and spent the entirety of his life living in the Wood River Valley and traveling the world whenever he got the chance. From childhood Connor was a strong willed, enthusiastic, and extremely animated kid. At a young age, Connor developed many passions and obsessions from anything relating to the Lord of the Rings to shooting guns with his friends and riding four wheelers around the backwoods of his home. Connor was a sweet young man and always made lots of friends in any environment he inhabited. Connor grew to be thought of as a writer, stoic, and adventurer by his friends and peers. No one can deny that Connor lived life to the absolute fullest. He experienced more of the world than most his age. His love for travel took him to many amazing places, allowed him to experience incredible cultures, and most importantly, meet some of the best friends in his life. He met his soul mate, Ioana Pop, in 2019 working at Sun Valley Company. There was no doubt that their love was unconditional. They were married in Ketchum in September of 2021 on the Big Wood River by his favorite swimming hole. This past May they travelled to Romania to celebrate their love again with Ioana’s family. Connor and Ioana dreamed of moving to Romania to start a family. They lived in Ketchum with their two dogs, Nala and Kovu just blocks away from his childhood home where he grew up. As we grieve the loss of an important member of our family and community we encourage everyone to think of their best memories with Connor and be sure to live life to the fullest in his memory! During this time we know Connor would remind us all of a favorite quote by J. R. R Tolkien, "End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. " We will celebrate Connor’s life at the Church of the Big Wood. Please visit the website for further details on his Celebration of Life.Show more

Larry passed from complications related to cancer on Sept. 30, 2023, in Laramie, Wyoming. At Larry’s direction, there will be no funeral. Instead, he asked that friends and family gather to celebrate his life and each other. There will be two celebrations of life. The first will be held in Jerome, Idaho, on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4 p. m. at the Elks Lodge located at the Jerome 93 Golf Course. The second will be held in Rawlins, Wyoming, on Nov. 11. Specific details will be communicated prior to this event. Larry was born on July 19, 1947, in Albion, Idaho, to Keith and Bonnie Justesen. Larry loved helping his parents with whatever they needed throughout his life and was a mama’s boy at heart. Larry went to school in Carey, Idaho, where he would meet and eventually marry his sweetheart, Judy Peterson. Larry liked to tell the story of when as a sixth grader he saw Judy cheerleading, and told his buddies, "I’m going to marry that girl someday. " Well, he was right, as Larry and Judy had just celebrated 49 years of marriage. Many of Larry’s friends and family have shared how they have watched him over the years as a husband, and how that has inspired them to be better husbands themselves. He was a man with many friends, and you would never hear him say a negative word about anyone. In March of 1980, Larry traveled to Rawlins, Wyoming to accept the position of Carbon County Weed and Pest Supervisor. This would be a milestone moment for Larry and his family, which included his wife Judy and daughters. Larry and Judy would call Carbon County home for the next 43 years. Larry frequently talked about how much he loved working for the county’s Board of Directors and working with his crew, the farmers, ranchers, and the homeowners he served. Over his career Larry received county, state and even national recognition for his dedication to his profession. He was a proud member of the Rawlins Lions Club where he enjoyed spending time with friends and volunteering. He was also a member of the Elks. Larry loved golf, hunting, racquetball, cards, spinning and the American flag. He especially loved dancing with Judy, whether it be in the kitchen, a barn or a big dance floor. He enjoyed sharing stories about his golf and travel adventures including trips to Ireland, Hawaii, Lake Havasu and watching his grandsons play baseball throughout the U. S. A few of his favorite courses would include Rochelle Ranch in Rawlins, the Star Valley Ranch Resort in Star Valley, Wyoming, and the annual family beach trip to stay and golf at Manzanita Links on the Oregon coast.
