"Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Victor Maurice Harper II Victor's journey through life began on August 23, 1993, in Woodbridge, Virginia, and tragically ended on September 27, 2023, following a devastating accident. As an only child, Victor was the light of his parents' eyes. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his role as a doting father was a source of immense pride. Throughout his life, Victor was driven by his love of family and self-determination. Victor's love and devotion knew no bounds. His daughters, Ajani and Joie, were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Victor embodied the ideal "girl dad," lovingly leading them on camping escapades, sharing memorable family holidays at Rehoboth Beach, and skillfully instructing Ajani in the arts of skiing and skating. Victor co-parented his children with DeQuanya "Q" Marshall, mother of his girls. He maintained a lifelong dedication to his mother and father and enjoyed close relationships with many, including his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, coworkers, and community. Victor's commitment to education and personal growth is a further testament to his self-determination. An excellent student, his educational journey began at C. D. Hylton High School, in Woodbridge, Virginia. Victor demonstrated an early aptitude for the arts and easily established several lifelong friendships, graduating with the Class of 2011. He proudly attended Virginia Union University, an HBCU in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated in 2016. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. , Victor epitomized their precepts of scholarship, good character, brotherhood, and service. Professionally, Victor excelled. He had recently started a new position as a Proposal Coordinator at EMCOR Government Services, a global industrial leader. In an additional capacity, Victor was also employed at the Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Service, where he was recently promoted to Program Director. His dedication and passion for his work were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love of the arts was also reflected in his career. Inspired by his favorite artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Victor was commissioned to create modern artwork and murals in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. His work will stand as testimony to his creativity, his talent, and his life. Victor's magnetic personality left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His playfulness, unique sense of style, and zest for life set him apart in the most extraordinary way. He was a source of inspiration and joy to those around him, and his presence illuminated any room he entered. Victor lived his life unapologetically, authentically embracing every moment with passion and enthusiasm. Victor's ability to find joy in everyday things -- his daughter's laughter, a new dance step, a favorite song, a vibrant piece of artwork -- made him truly special. Victor is survived by a wide circle of family and friends: his mother, Paula Harper, his father, Victor Harper, stepfather, Antonio Ebron, stepmother, Stacey Hagens (and his five step sisters and step brother), Anastasia Hagens, Bianca Washington, Gabrielle Washington, Chloe Washington, Alexa Washington and Michael Washington; grandparents, Melvin and Jacqueline Smullen (maternal), Leroy Sampson, and Cheryl Taylor (maternal); daughters, Ajani and Joie Harper; Orlando (Beatrice) Harper, uncle Andy (Jennifer) Brown, and Andy Davon Brown (little Aj) aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of others who will forever cherish the memories of his warmth, humor, and dynamic personality.
